I recently sold my Maxamet PM2 so it is no longer on hand for comparison. From what I recall, this is equal to it in color.

Scales on my Maxamet and Elmax PM2s are indistinguishable. I would have preferred a difference but am glad to have what I have.

Strange to pick up a PM2 while starting to un-collect them. But I went thru my knives and found I have only one, a fixed blade, in Elmax. So I decided I had better grab this one as it seems Elmax was/is a short lived knife steel and likely something that you're not going to see much of. I do tend to favor mid grade stainless steels due to their all around decent qualities - and the gray keeps growing on me; it was once a color I didn't care for much and would pass on.

Friday is new knife day!! This one’s sticky sharp out of the box, I love the medium-dark gray. It’ll be interesting EDCing a stainless blade again. I’ve been stuck on tool steels for a long time now.

So I haven’t carried a new g10 scaled knife in some time. My old Millie slides into my pocket easily, the Shaman glides in as well, but this new pm2 has fresh g10 and it feels like sandpaper on my pocket! I’ve moved the clip for tip up carry and am embarking on the honeymoon.

Is anyone else using these or are y’all just hiding them in your safes?

I fully intend to carry my new Elmax PM2 once the novelty on my new VG10 Lum Tanto wears off (and the novelty of my inbound PM2 Tanto wears off).

I am about to retire one of my PM2s. It has been a beater in the garage, exposed to edge abuse. Good for parts, or maybe try some kind of a handle chop. At that point the next PM2 is going to take its place. And that is when the Elmax goes into rotation.

Method to my PM2 madness :spiral-eyes

Wish the scales were darker. Like bladeops depicted them; more charcoal. These are identical to what I already have. But I dig gray, so all good.

Should be easy to dye them darker, though I spose it would be equally easy to go to black by accident.
