Worker 40th anniversary

#1

Post by Filoso- »

The year goes by and I haven't heard anything about it, so I was wondering if there is something planned about a new edition of the Worker for its 40th anniversary.
I think it would be nice because of how iconic this model is and what it represents to the history of Spyderco...

That would be awesome! The worker came out long before I was fortunate enough to get introduced to Spyderco. I would love to see a modern day spin on it, super steel at the very least would be amazing.
:bug-red-white I collect them all, and use them all! I use the excuse, "I'm trying to find the perfect one", but in reality, they are all perfect in their own way!

I agree it would be cool but no mention of it that I've seen

Interesting. A linerless G10 or peel ply CF in SPY27 or MagnaCut would be pretty cool. Make it in Golden too!

The last sprint run did not sell well.

A lightweight worker would be awesome.

I would definitely be in for a new iteration of the Worker. I've been keeping my eyes peeled on the secondary market but an anniversary edition would be amazing!

I would love to see a new release of the Worker. I am not even going to throw in my material wishlist as just upgrading from the VG-10 to some tool steel would be enough for me.

It’s a really nice picture Freediver! That’s one that I thought it will be in the calendar, especially being its 40th anniversary this year...

No accounting for taste, the G-10 Worker was about as good as it gets.

Yeah, I'd rather see Spyderco use its limited resources for something else. Like a sprint of the original Bradley Folder.

Materials-wise, the Bradley 1 was very sprint-like.

I'd love it, but I've gotta have a SE option and I would really love to have the second edge on top, or at least enough factory ground false edge that I can sharpen it into an edge myself.

And I really want a Worker XL!

Would really like one of these in SPY27. Probably two. Every time I see a photo of a Worker I wish for a run so I can get a fresh one and put it to work.

Kinda shows how crazy of a year it's been that nobody has thought about this until now!

FRN scales would be nice on such a petite knife. The liners and g10 felt a bit over built for my preference. Actually a bit thinner blade stock would be great too.

I must agree, Spy27 would (not only) philosophically really suit the Worker. I would actually keep the robust build and grind so that the name 'Worker' has some weight to it. Yes the knife did feel a little butt heavy, maybe one can do some changes to how the weight is distributed.

I agree with you Matus, Spy27 would suit the spirit of the Worker perfectly.
