I'm sure it wasn't intended that way.
I know, just poking fun.

Sometimes I'm envious of the non-knife people that still have and use the same cheap knife they've had forever. Then I remember I like the hobby too much to only carry one knife forever. I have in recent years set a rule for myself with every new knife I get I have to sell an old one while also carrying the new knife for at least 3 months. It's worked out most of the time. Spyderco has me breaking the rule the most out of any other company haha.

In my father's 65 short years on this planet, he had maybe 3 pocket knives, one of which I gave him. I have a true embarrassment of riches. There used to be a word for that...oh, right, gluttony. :disappointed

Sorry, I have no idea why that emoji became gigantic.
Hey, cabfrank:
I fixed the size of the emoji, but I'm trying to figure out how it got so big. :thinking

Can you tell me if you selected the emoji from the menu on the right, or did you insert it some other way? I did notice a difference in formatting when I edited the post, but I'm not sure why it was different.

Feel free to PM me so we don't derail this thread. ;)

Thanks much!

Kristi

Every time I select an emoji from my iPhone keyboard, it comes out gigantic.

I waste more than I can afford on knives :respect . On music memorabilia :skull-crossbones , on clothing :cheap-sunglasses, Etc...etc. I am dumber than $hit for doing that. Pure truth. And I make no excuses for my actions.

I sometimes still feel the attraction of the concept of having only one single folder for everthing (and realistically quite some Spydies COULD fill that role for me)...
but in reality I am about to break my rule "Only ten Spydies at each point in time" (my Stretch 1 backups already EXcluded anyway...) :o
This is one reason I enjoy doing these month long carry "challenges," because I enjoy being a one knife guy.

I like simply grabbing my knife when I load my pockets for the day. No looking through a rotation, deciding what to carry.

There is no folder on the market I'm aware of that works as well for my needs as my PE Pacific Salt 2's.

I still go through my collection from time to time and refine their edges and sometimes grab a random knife to break down packages from the mail etc. But I'm happier carrying the same knife day to day than sorting through a collection.

I've narrowed most my gear down the same way. I have around 10 various backpacks but I use the same one every day. I have about 15 watches but I have 2 I choose from each day - a Seiko field watch which is my daily watch, and a Casio ABC when I want additional functions for hiking, timing runs etc.

vivi, I am in agreement on the Pac Salt 2. I think it would easily cover everything I need in one knife.

I recently tallied how many folders I had, not counting the fixed blades and axes, and I was dumbfounded by how I had accumulated so many :downcast

I’ve discovered that I really don’t have that many Spydies if I don’t count multiples of a given model. So, there, I’m not so dumb.

Good for bandwidth, I'm sure, if that's still a thing.
