Isn't the Rookie similar to a Delica with a choil?

Casey Lynch (LynchNW) titanium Delica scales from 2015. Casey has hinted he may make more of these in the near future, but don’t quote me on that. These predate the Boomer52 scales by a few years. :)

The Rookie is like a miniaturized version of the Police model.

I was thinking Police 4 which has a choil, but the Rookie was never based on that iteration of the knife.

Absolutely not.
There are plenty of other Spyderco models with a finger choil.

Welcome to the forum! I'd like to see a delica with a forward choil but my first thought was the same as Manifestgtr. The chaparral would be similar imho. Im always game to try new versions, of existing knives though, so I'd give it a shot. Cheers

Have to say that I am quite happy with the Delica as it is. I have not found myself wanting a choil on a Delica.

No.

You want a forward choil on a similar knife you can pick:
1) Native
2) Calypso 3
3) Chaparral LW
4) Sage
5?

Hello all. I’m new to the form, but not new to Spyderco. I got my first Delica 25 years ago and have a bit of an odd collection. Some pre-2000 and the rest post 2020. With that short intro out of the way, I just recently purchased my first Delica (k390) in 20 years. I also happened to just purchase a DF2 and a Stretch2 - both also in k390.

After having used all three quite extensively, I have come to notice and regret the lack of a forward finger choil on the Delica. The Stretch2 (a PM2 blade with more belly) feels like a slightly thicker Delica in my hand due to the forward finger choil and the DF2 is all kinds of fine cutting and control due to its forward finger choil. This then leads me to the Delica, without the choil that provides so much extra goodness on the other two.

I can’t be the only one who has noticed this and one day, I hope, to buy my third Delica (perhaps a Delica5) with that oh so nice forward finger choil.
Welcome. This is an old topic. Wouldn't be a Delica with a choil.

Will trade a choil on the Delica for removing it from every model with it

Otherwise no ;)

Nope... not at all interested in a finger choil on the Delica.
I wouldn't buy another Delica if Spyderco did that (but then it wouldn't be a Delica anymore).

No thank you. I prefer the Endela over the Delica, and I am not bothered by the absence of a choil on either model.

I had a strong negatory reaction to the initial question… then I remembered I don’t carry my Delicas anymore, except for the Salt 2. And I’d like to replace it with a Pacific Salt. At this point for me the Delica is a tweener, I either want something smaller (Ladybug, Urban) or bigger (PM2, Millie). Although I confess to wanting to try out a Native 5.

You guys are all off topic.

The question is whether or not you'd like a Delica with a CHOIR.

The obvious answer is YES.

Who wouldn't want a Delica with Handel's Halleluja Chorus in the background? You could not find a better fit between knife and music.
