My guess is the seller is hoping Spyderco will buy it for publicity sake. It is a stupid amount of money for a person not involved to pay for a knife IMO and I don't see it happening.

If it was me I'd donate it to Spyderco . If they even wanted it. It seems kind of greasy to me and I'm not going to hope he/they succeed in getting that amount for it.

Kudos to Yegor. The guy telling the story bought it off Yegor. Perhaps Yegor sold it to him to help pay hospital bill or something cuz he's probably gonna be out of work for a bit. Not gonna draw any conclusions about the story teller who bought it off Yegor and put it up on E-bay. Maybe he's doing it to help out Yegor.

Possibly, but I SERIOUSLY doubt it. The vibe I get is that the seller is only doing it to profit himself.
