I got my HH Urban yesterday and am very happy with it. Like I said in a previous post this is my fourth Urban so I'm used to the little idiosyncrasies that come with this model. Yes, the blade is shorter than the others but it doesn't bother me. It also arrived less than razor sharp but a few swipes on the strop remedied that (one reason I like S90V). The G10 is grippy but nowhere near Emerson-level grippy and it feels nice in the hand. Backspring isn't fully flush with the scales but it's better than my other Urbans. The half-stop is nice and solid, especially on the closing motion. All in all it's a solid Urban with great steel and in a nice color.

OK, a quick update.
Just picked mine up at the post office.
Didn’t have time to check it out very thoroughly, but I was able to form some initial impressions.
First of all, I’m actually glad I got it. My previous post was not exactly a positive one, but like I said; low expectations has the advantage of increasing your chance of being positively surprised.

Except for the ridiculous blade to handle ratio, it seems to be mostly good as far as I can tell.

- My quick inspection did not reveal any glaring fit and finish issue between the G10 and the back spring, so it can’t be too bad (on mine at least)

- It shaved hair, so sharpening is at least OK-ish. It’s not a big worry either way, but sharp is always better than dull, even if it’s an easy thing to fix.

- Grippy G10. I dig it!
I wish more G10 came like this. And like some have mentioned before, it’s easier to make grippy G10 smooth than the other way around. Maybe not the style of knife that need it the most, but man, the way it locks into my hand should be worth some shredded pockets. And about that grip…

- …this is my first Urban, which brings me back to my initial point of being glad I got it. Of all my spyderco’s so far, this is the one that fits my hand the best. It’s literally like a glove. This iteration might have its issues and might not be my end stop as far as Urbans are concerned, but it is certainly a model I will follow with great interest.

Glad to be making a more positive post today. My impressions might get more nuanced with more time and experience, but initial impressions were far better than I feared, so that’s absolutely a good thing.

Oh, and the box says S30V. A typo for sure, but maybe not ideal in the event one wants to flip it at some point.

Mine is in LA too, but so am I and it looks like it cleared customs yesterday at noon, so there's a good chance I'll receive it tomorrow.

I really like its, quality is good, my first S90V.
10 days from UK to Austria.
Unfortunatly as a result of BREXshIT i had to pay customs and import sales tax.
So it was no cheap purchase.

Thank you for the comparison pictures.
Could you please post a picture with the spine/back of the handle, if that's OK.

They made the blade shorter, wonder why.
And the belly is more rounded.
I think AEB-L blade looks better.

Indeed Brexit made them cheaper.
And considering Spydercos were already way too cheap in Europe.
Here you are:

Total cost including shipment, customs, taxes: EUR 148,69.

Don't get it why they made it shorter.
The price is sweet :D I remember times when you could buy a PM2 for less than that...

It's my carry today, so getting to know it a little better.

When some are writing that the backspring isn't perfectly flush with the scales, I'm not really sure if we're seeing variation in quality or if it's just our sensitivity to detect imperfection that's differently calibrated.
For me, it's certainly good enough to not bother me. It's flush and even (as far as I can tell) almost throughout the length of the back spring, with the scales sitting slightly proud of the back spring at the butt end. Barely noticeable. This is applicable in both opened and closed position.
I wasn't expecting GEC finishing (if that's the slip joint reference point, I really don't know) and for someone not used to slipjoints my sample is well within my expectations for a mass produced user knife.

First adjustment

After some use, I noticed that the blade would often favor the clip side slightly.
Upon adjusting it, I noticed the pivot screw was very loose, like we've seen on some Seki models of late. I'm very certain it would have fallen out if left unattended for long enough.
The body and clip screw were acceptably tight.
After applying loctite and adjusting screw tension, the action feels even better and it now centers perfectly every time.

Wasn't it shortened to get under a 2.5" blade limit in some places?

It’s still is a nonsense and they ruined the Urban… at least for me. Those who need a sub 2.5 inch slipit have other choices … the Sqeak or the upcoming lil Native slipit.

I just checked. And mine hasn't updated since 6/29, and still says leaving UK...

My plan is just to forget about it and be surprised when it finally shows.
So it goes.

Mine just arrived following a several day delay in NY.

Overall I’m happy with it, but my belief that Maniago has the lowest quality F&F remains. The backspring is not aligned with either scale whether opened or closed and the spyderhole has an extra notch of steel that wasn’t milled out. Hoping the pivot has been improved upon since the AEB-L sprint, but for now I’m going to resist the urge to disassemble it.
