Looks great, definitely sanding mine! Might be dying it as well!

Well y'all inspired me to sand my scales. Used 120 grit and 220 grit sanding blocks. Wore gloves and a mask, wet sanded. Knocked off the aggressive texture. Now it's perfect for me.

My daughter just brought mine from England. It’s … a nightmare. Between the atrocious G10 scales, the fit and finish and the stumpy blade, this is by far the worst Urban ever produced. An “honorable” mention to the grind, the cutting bevels are all over the place and it came as dull as a butter knife. I am so frustrated. Enough said but I have a message for the Spyderco CQ : you blew it big time guys. Sorry !

It is sad to hear all the negative feedback and frustration - especially given the cost (140€). I would actually prefer to get the Urban over the UKPK ...

I'd be interested in seeing pictures as well. Mine came dull also, it was basically only cutting because of the geometry. I quickly sharpened it up on a DMT fine & Double Stuff. I don't feel like the bevels are abnormal on the blade I received, it slightly flares towards the tip on the show side, but that's it.
So it goes.

Mine was dull too so I touched it up on the Sharpmaker Fines. 🙂

I really think that particular Italian factory has really been hurting Spyderco.

Well, DLT Tuff is still in stock too and that knife is spotless when it comes to F&F. We don't know how many of these Heinnie ordered.

I am tempted by it and would not even mind the shorter blade (for a 5th pocket knife), but the price/quality does not seem to be quite right it would seem. For a slipjoint the Urban makes more sense to me than the larger UKPK. I have had a chance to get one in k390 second hand recently and passed because this one was coming. Oh well.

Biiig mistake ! Huge…

P.S I was smart enough and purchased 3 of those in k390… they were available for a long time. Best pocket knife IMO.

... well, we all make mistakes sometimes ... but one of the reasons was I was just in the process of acquiring a second-hand k390 PM2 (which arrived yesterday) which I was offered for incredibly friendly price (like it was not one of the most collectible PM2s out there) - actually about as much as this new S90V Urban ... so I have decided to let the k390 Urban to go to someone else :)
