Spontaneous idea: The Spyderco Dog Tag non locking folder in HIC elastic ceramic. Non locking makes it legal in I think most places all over the world. Thoughts?

I think that is a good idea. Rust proof, lightweight, legal, easy to carry and extreme wear resistance in one package. Would be my first Dog Tag experience.
So it goes.

It’s a neat idea and it gives me another!
Seems like the material could do well as box cutter, so perhaps it’s just what this prototype design by Mr. Glesser needs to finally find a spot in production?
Sal mentioned maybe bringing it to bladeshow, but I wasn’t there to see if that worked out.
I just find the design a bit too interesting to forget about, plus I think the elastic ceramic could work in the platform.

The dog tag would be cool. An ever present razor. Speaking of razors, the High Impact Ceramic aka Elastic Ceramic will be great as a utility knife blade replacement.

PS
Spyderco has done CATRA testing on the elastic ceramic and Sal said it was up
there with the super steels. I hope to hear more about the tests!
Game changer.

I think the form and function of the Spidiechef in a FRN lightweight with a lock back would be an ideal model for this new material. Thoughts?

The form/function factor of the SpydieChef has not been appreciated by many because it may be a bit out of their price comfort range. Any change in handle material or lock type that would lower the cost to get this form factor into more hands would be a definite plus. Dunno about the cost of elastic ceramic, tho. I am absolutely OK with the knife as is and it is certainly worth every penny to me, but I can see where others may desire a more edge retentive steel. During certain seasons it is absolutely my favorite knife.
