I'm looking for a skunkworks holster for my gunting. I've tried to call the number located at: http://members.ispwest.com/doughunt/sku ... heaths.htm



but there was a woman's voice on the machine. It sounded residential. I also tried the email listed there. (skunkworks@aol.com?) to no avail. Anybody have current information on where I can obtain a holster? Thanks.

Frank is in the Police Academy right now and working Corrections..so he's not making alot of plastic right now..

Robert Humelbaugh's website is www.survivalsheath.com and Mike Sastre is at www.rivercitysheaths.com . I have personally dealt with Robert and he is fast, having made me six custom Gunting sheaths with a turnaround of about two weeks. His standard belt sheath holds the Gunting in the OPENED position, so if you want the clamshell-style that holds the Gunting in the closed position, be sure to let him know.

Thanks for the info guys. BTW, just got the live blade yesterday. It's got a number 437 just above the spyder hole. Anything special 'bout that?

wow..you got a numbered Gunting..very cool..
first ones were numbered..
Get Mike or Rob to make you a holster that holds it closed..it limits function if its open already..
you want fast open? get a wave.
Want it open all the time? get a fixed blade..
Want open on demand? use the Gunting and enjoy!!!

Just wanted to say thanks again to everyone. It's hard to choose one sheath maker over another. I ordered mine from Rob at Survival Sheath. I want to say that he did an excellent job. The gunting fits smoothly in the sheath, I have no trouble drawing it, yet it remains secure. I'm quite pleased with my purchase and would recommend him for any work. For me, a sheath is the best way to carry a gunting.

Thanks too to Bram for an excellent design, and Spyderco for perfect execution. Though I can't carry it at work, it's on my belt in the car and out of work. I spend a good bit of time on the road, and count on the Gunting not only for EDC and SD, but figure I can use the blade horn as a glass breaker in a pinch.

i am very interested into purchasing a Spyderco Gunting knife. I really like the idea of multiple self defense options it offers. I believe Mr. Bram has come up with a great knife that has a great future ahead.

I have seen that most of the people, that are using the Gunting, are carrying it in a holster. I always have a knife on me (spyderco police), but in my country it has to be a concealed carry. So carrying it in a belt holster is not really an option.

What i would like to ask is if the knife fits well into jeans pocket and can be worn there comfortably? I have noticed, that the clip was put lower due to its functions. Does the protruding end of the knife stick out too much?

I saw Mike Sastre at the Blade Show, and bought one of his belt sheaths, which is far sturdier than the Skunkworks sheaths I already had. Mike did not have any of his Pocket Rockets, or I would have bought one of those also.
