A couple of larger folders like the Stretch XL G10 and the SE Police is exactly what I need.
This thread is music to my ears. :)

Hi Sal, so will there be a G-10 XL version available at any point?

(I only ask because the Stretch2 w/Brown G-10 is my favourite Stretch and one of my very favourite knives ever)

:D

This one (only) came in ZDP 189, right?!

Yep, it's my favourite model from either the v1 or v2 series, it's such a solid knife... I'm actually planning to stick a K390 blade in it as soon as I can get my hands on one. ;) :D

Image

It's not a lightweight knife, but it's one of the finest G10 folders Spyderco has ever made IMO. :)

I am sure it is! :)

What many don't know: The G10 Stretch 2 has also a longer blade than all the FRN Stretch 2 - not by much, but noticeable I think.
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

It really isn't noticeable IMO... it's late, but tomorrow I'll take a couple close up pics

I hope Sal will answer the question if there will be a G10 Stretch XL, or just the FRN version....

I wouldn't be surprised if it is G10 for prototyping and FRN for production.

A G10 Stretch XL might be my perfect folding knife. Fingers crossed for this one!

I can't wait on this. I was on board the first time Sal mentioned this knife.

Not that it matters much to me, but is it the classic Stretch blade or the straight spine?

I favor the classic, but is it an option?

Ideally? Cruwear. Hopefully? K390. Possibly? S30V. Most likely? VG10.

That is excellent news! Thank you Sir!

Please, oh please, let it be the classic Stretch blade shape...

Straight spine... (I'd have slightly preferred "classic", but not a dealbreaker)

Well, at least Lance wrote in the very first post of this thread (quote): "My feeling on holding the new (straight spine) XL was that it was essentially a backlock pm2 on steroids....)"

The first run will be Straight Spine. In the future, anything is possible depending on your demand. The FRN (black) version will begin with VG-10 in 3 configs. The G-10 version will begin with a special steel. Alternate steels for both versions will depend on you.

Thank you Sal. Dare I ask what special steel, Magnacut perhaps? That will break the internet, for sure.
