Anyone selling a Spyderco Q knife or blade?

#1

Post by el0i5e »

Hey, everyone, I'm a female, 30 from London and am absolutely gutted! I snapped the tip off of my Spyderco Q knife! It's the one with the spider cut out in the blade.

Does anyone have a spare blade or full knife for sale please? It's a really sentimental piece and I would love to be able to replace or fix it.

Thank you! :D

A work of art is probably going to difficult to replace? If you do happen to find one , maybe you can buy a screwdriver to use for prying

Welcome to the forum el0i5e!

Getting your hands on a Q for a decent price might be a little tricky these days.. I don't think they've been in production for 15 years or better..

Depending what you're willing to pay for it, it might be worth checking out ebay.. I see there are a few there, unfortunately with asking prices that are pretty outlandish (way more than I'd ever pay anyways haha). Maybe "make an offer" and see what happens? Another spot I've noticed that sometimes has obscure Spydercos is arizonacustomknives.com. No guarantees as to what's in stock on a given day, but with a little patience, maybe one comes along.. prices would probably be a little bit more reasonable there. There are also various other online forums that allow buying/selling with a paid membership, and reddit has a buy/sell knife section as well. I'm not especially familiar with those.. other members here may be able to chime in and point you in the right direction..

Or.. maybe it's time for a new knife altogether! I hope you're able to find a new Q, but if that's not the case, any Spyderco model is a worthy replacement! Best of luck in your search! :)

From the Board Index, go to Off Topic. There is a link to Spyderco Swap.

I have not used this link or service. I do think it is a good place to post up and hope for some help.

This probably doesn't help you much but I would say your goodbyes and put your Q into retirement. Then maybe you can find a new current Spyderco to fall in love with! How about the Dragonfly 2!?

I had one of those along time ago I don’t know whatever happened to it. If I would’ve known all the spyderco knives I bought over the years would be worth so much I definitely would’ve kept more of them.

Hi El0i5e,

I've had no luck in finding a Q with a bug ( we made 2 variations ). I did find a serrated Q blade that we made for "MIT-INKJET, which we can send to you if you want. If you are interested, please email your mailing address to Alex Smith at Asmith@spyderco.com.

Hi Sal,

I have a spare new Q with a bug, but I don’t have the “MIT-INKJET” Q and would love to add this variation to my collection. Would you be interested in sending me the “MIT-INKJET” Q and I’ll send you a new Q with a bug so you can gift it to El0i5e?

Hi Sal,

Thank you for clarifying. I’m still interested in adding just the MIT-INKJET Q blade to my collection. If you have an extra blade or if ElOi5e doesn’t take your offer, perhaps I can send you a check in a denomination of your choice to the Children's Hospital in Denver? If that works for you, I can email Alex Smith and work out the details.

Hi Slick,

That would work for me. The check is not necessary, but if you must (good gesture) send a check to Alex for $40 made out to Children's Hospital in Denver.
