These scales were made by Ripps Garage Tech but they're pretty much what we can expect.

Another photo from another maker. (Though these are more contoured than Spyderco's scales will be.)

The first ones from RGT would be a big no for me. Looks like a bunch of pigeons have been using them for target practice

The second set isn't bad but still not anything that thrills me. Maybe if it has some crazy new steel

Reminds me of the scales that are available at SharpDressedKnives. Safe to say this knife will easily be over $200, even if it has S30V.

Ripps type of scale with REX 45 or K390, and I am paying attention.

Love them on the Shaman, but not a fan of the fatter scales on a knife like the PM2. Tried and didn't care for them.

I've never handled Fatcarbon scales in person. Do they normally have any texture or are they typically smooth?

Is solid Fat Carbon any stronger than the weave pattern we are used to? Maybe this could be have a liner delete like the BHQ copper one. Or even construction like the Para3 LW single lock tab. Didn’t Eric say in the vid that they had been working on it for quite some time? That would be an absolutely amazing lightweight package.

Fat Carbon Materials is a Lithuanian company. I’ve seen a knife where $50 is added to the price when going from CF to Fatcarbon Arctic Storm CF (made with a combination of carbon fiber and layers of thin ceramic material).

Im looking to get my first PM2 so this has my interest. Does anyone have any experience of buying from Canada? Does SMKW even ship outside the US?

I was able to find this on their site. With it being an exclusive you may want to call well in advance and see how they can facilitate your order. I imagine once it goes live you can just call in and place your order that way.

:bug-red-white I collect them all, and use them all! I use the excuse, "I'm trying to find the perfect one", but in reality, they are all perfect in their own way!

They both remind me of the old mullet dude's Nova down the block when I was a kid. He was always just one weekend of sanding away from being down to primer and ready for that respray. But come weekend he'd end up drinking too many Old Milwaukees and never quite got there.

Right… if Rex 121, I can see a lot of people picking up and dumping the scales to recover a bit of the cost.
