Looking forward to this one. I wish it had replaceable scales though since this is begging for micarta.

Curious to see what MAP is on it.

Micarta is comparatively heavy. You can actually hear the knife begging to be heavier?
Would it really make that much of a difference in such a small knife?

Stole this from Vivi's street beat thread

Street Beat - 3.44oz

Street Beat LW NIB - 2.99oz

Street Beat LW user - 3.05oz

Not even half an oz.

Funneling funds to other wallet draining hobbies and activities atm, so I'm holding back on knives for a while. The small fix'ies (swick and subway) are probably the only new knives (we know any amount of detail on) that can convince my to open my wallet in the short term. Part of me would really like to get my hands on one or both of them in time for the upcoming spring/summer season, but another part of me is perfectly happy to put off that cost for a while longer :)

It wasn't in the reveal so it *might* be a ways off yet.

Just a bump for the Subway Bowie. Maybe it's just me but, these small pocketable edc fixed blades seem to be popping up left and right in my social media feeds. I don't have any mini fixed blades yet but the urge is getting harder to resist. Seems like the Subway Bowie would fit right in.

i have a mini tracker. it's a bit bigger, but i can still pocket it. i actually really like it for a small fixed blade because it adds functionality that i'm not going to get with just any other fixed blade. the differnt blade angles and shape, along with the notching "saw" on the back, give me a highly functional knife that doesn't just duplicate my folders.

still looking forward to the subway bowie though. and the larger enuffs. and the swicks. i might end up with none of them though. i don't really need them and they are taking so long to release that i forget all about them until these thread pop up from time to time.

the subway bowie was announced and it looks like a really great little companion knife in lc200n. and finally, we get some coated lc200n as well. this one is certainly going to find it's way into my collection as a neck knife for hiking/camping. no more worries about sweat rusting my neck knife!

It’s puzzling to me that the Street Bowie, Street Beat, and Subway Bowie are all the same price. Makes me wonder if VG10 would have made a difference in price or not.

i've kind of given up on trying to figure out spyderco pricing. they say it's based on production costs, but it has to also be based on how popular they think a model will be. some of the price differences make no sense at all when you consider materials and production locations. all i know is i'm going to have to be content with my collection soon and stop buying more spydercos because i can't really afford to chase them anymore.

especially given the 5" model has a more complicted handle design, being composed of two materials rather than one.

the full sized perrin bowie is a good value weighed against the rest of their fixed offerings.
