Invisible wire clip, good for winter
Maybe someone already did this.
Short piece of paracord can camouflage your wire clip and this can be done to match every color of your pants or shorts. It can be helpful another way - your hand won’t be touching cold metal during cold weather.

Excellent idea and easily done. I would imagine that keeping metal covered in Russian winters is very important!

Did you just invent the clip sleeve? :D How have I not seen this before! This would probable work great for working around new cars all day.

Actually, I think this would prevent a lot of abrasion to certain materials. Neat!

Thanks for posting this. Neat idea, and I have plenty of paracord to try out.
Re: Invisible wire clip, good for winter
Do you feel any difference concerning ergos /feel in hand with this mod? The covered clip could make a knife just a tad more comfortable in hand - ?

Re: Invisible wire clip, good for winter
Great idea. Some of my overabundance of paracord might get used for clip wraps as I get more carriers with wire clips.
I've also been wondering what sort of cord y'all use for lanyards. The lanyard holes on Spydies look too small for 550 to pass through.

That's pretty cool, something I never would have thought of that's for sure.

Re: Invisible wire clip, good for winter
I have no reason to hide my clip and i have never noticed my clip being cold.
That said, I like to work on cars and this would definitely work to prevent scratches. Scratching paint and furniture is one of a few reasons I switched to back pocket carry many, many years ago.

Re: Invisible wire clip, good for winter
I don’t use 550 for lanyard , I use next size down or even better and cheaper is boot laces from the sporting goods store and then tie them with a snake knots to length
Leather makes good lanyard but is much more time consuming to tie correct

Re: Invisible wire clip, good for winter
I put heat shrink tube on one of my PM2 clips. When getting out of my wife's car the sharp edge of the clip would scrape the bottom of her steering wheel (she has one of those tiny SUV's) and heat shrink stopped the scratching. On the plus side I found it was easier to pull out of my pocket with wet hands.
I could imagine if you could guide small tubing around the corners of the wire clip that might work. Another option might be Plasti Dip?

Same here, heat shrink on the clip, or remove and dip twice in plastic dip and remember to noteRoc wrote: ↑Fri May 14, 2021 10:35 amI put heat shrink tube on one of my PM2 clips. Dip the clip near the screw holes, it sure helps on not scratch the paint on a vehicle IMO
