4.2" of cutting edge in a nicely balanced steel like S35VN for $107.10 is a heckuva deal in my book. Anxiously awaiting real world opinions on how serrated S35VN fares compared to other toothy steels.
I am ambivalent about it. Just another liner lock. I am more excited about the FFG Spyderedge K390 Police. Sorry.

No doubt the serrated K390 police will sell like gangbusters, but some degree of corrosion resistance is warranted in the environs to which I venture. Liner locks make me a little nervous because I've seen too many cheap ones fail the spine whack, but I have confidence that Spyderco will not produce an unsafe lock. I hope the S35VN version is as safe as the Military and has bronze washers.

The S35VN Tenacious linerlock is great and perfectly safe. And actually one of the most convenient to use locks I am aware of. I´d strongly assume that the Tenacious S35VN lock won´t be any different.
On a sidenote: I personally don´t think that the "spine whack test" is overly meaningful in order to determine lock strength in real, realistic knife use. But that´s just me!

I really don't understand the spine whack thing at all. It isn't a realistic task that you'd perform with any knife. Are people out camping, trying to drive a nail into a tree with the spine of their pocket knife? The only thing it proves is that a non realistic "test" can fail some locks and not fail others. The only lock I've ever had disengage and close on my hand was a traditional back lock, and part of that was because I was squeezing the handle hard enough to press on the lock.
Sorry guys. I wasn't really referring to a hard spine whack against a hard surface but just doing against your leg while sitting down. There have been some awful unsafe gas station knives out there.
i hope these blades are swappable. if so, i'll have a pe s35vn/g10 version, a se coated 8cr13mov/blue frn version, and a pe 8cr13mov/black frn version. oh man... please let them be swappable.
I don't have it on me right now, but I am 100% sure it has.
Just had a quick look into Nick Shabbaz maintaining vid of the 8CR Tenacious lightweight, this one has two phosphor bronze washers on each side (see here at about 1:25 into the vid https://youtu.be/C9rngrxyxCs)
Can't imagine that the "higher end: S35VN version is any different in that regard.

I don't think the Resilience will be fully serrated. The maker said t was too difficult for him due to its size so a 50/50 is going to be the best we can get. At least for now.
i'm looking forward to a serrated resilience, but i really want a pe s35vn resilience more because it will compliment my se caribbean. please don't delay the release of plain edge and combo edge for the full serrated version.
a s35vn resilience with black blade, liners, and hardware and blue scales would look sick. just saying.
