I had a feeling that a lot of my longblade loving, SE-preaching forum friends here would have a field day with the latest reveal heh heh.

Compare that to the meh and disappointed reactions from the reddit and Facebook crowd lol.

Personally I'm happy that the Resilience is getting the s35vn treatment.

With Larrin's latest results closely comparing s35vn and Spy27, I think it makes perfect sense why these releases also have the blue handles (coincidence or not?)

We're on reveal #8 and it's the first one with some significant SE additions. You know how many times I've felt let down? 7 times prior to this so people can suck it up like I did every time another recycled titanium frame lock got pushed out. It's been a LONG time coming if you ask me.

Exactly D, which is why I'm really glad about this release because SE edge fans finally have something to look forward to. FB, Instagram and reddit guys are like looking forward to new steels and models and it's really funny to see NSFW laden disappointed posts and reactions from them about the latest reveal.

I do get it, there are models I wish would have been revealed too but some people are acting like Spyderco somehow did them wrong or something. I'm sure the next reveal will have some other Bowie clone that everyone can lose their minds over and buy just to flip a week later lol.

i'm actually considering the ce or pe for this one. i haven't tried s35vn yet. a big ce blade in a good steel might be amazing.

Yes, Spyderco does spoil us. While some may not enjoy this reveal as much as some in the past, I think this one is actually somewhat ground breaking in many respects. A deserving large knife platform elevated from the budget line with a well balanced steel with an edge to handle of 4.2" available in PE/CE/SE no less. The fact that Spyderco is moving forward with large serrated knives in two newer steels than they've used in the past has really caught my attention. First K390 and now S35VN. I am so looking forward to evaluations and opinions of JD, Evil D, and Vivi as well as other forumites in this regard. Happy Days. :D :p :D

Seems the main problem a lot of folks have with CE is that there isn't enough of either edge length to make it really useful. This will be interesting since with the Resilience, you're getting virtually two blade's worth of each edge type in one package.

yeah... for cutting fibrous materials, i think the se portion will grab plenty to either finish the cut or let the pe portion finish it. i just haven't wanted a ce in a really long time and this one is actually compelling. i'd probably still prefer pe on this model though and i'd carry it with my pac salt se or caribbean se.

Definitely a clutch reveal for you guys that favor larger folders, especially in SE. Bout time you get an exciting reveal! The many different CE's is very surprising though. Makes me wonder how well those will sell.
15 :bug-red 's in 10 different steels
1 - Bradford Guardian 3 / Vanadis 4E Wharnie
1 - Monterey Bay Knives Slayback Flipper / ZDP 189
1 - CRK Small Sebenza 31/Macassar Ebony Inlays

yes. most reveals haven't been too exciting to me. this one, although pretty slim, is much more exciting. i'll have to have at least one resilience lw and the se police.

I haven't had a black blade in a long time. If the wharncliffe Endura had been offered with a coated blade, I'd have gone that route. I've been close to spraying it with Krylon a few times

Maybe I missed it but I wish they'd gone all in and also made this in S35VN too.

I've heard many times that the "high speed, low drag" guys prefer combo edges. These knives may just be targeting people that Spyderco believe prefer them. Not everything is directly catered to us forumites :o

Great that also the S35VN version comes in full SE!!! :)

But: Now I understand even less why the S35VN Tenacious does not... :(
I think the chances of that happening someday just went up. Hopefully you'll get one in the next reveal!

Thanks! I REALLY hope so too...

In the latest reveal not only is the Resilience coming fully serrated, but there will be satin 8Cr, black 8Cr and S35VN variants!

Who else is excited for this release?
