I have a feeling this reveal could be a flop and lead to access inventory and discontinued models. Not just from the comments in this thread, but it's kind of strange it's so SE heavy. Maybe outside of here there's a lot of love for SE, but I can honestly say that anybody I've ever talked to that's just relatively into knives has no desire for SE. Mainly because people think it doesn't cut well, and because they have no idea how to sharpen them.

I'm intrigued to learn more about Sal's phrase "The Edge is a Ghost" and the meaning behind it.

Also, after looking over the mugs a bit more, I wanted to decipher the symbols shown below the phrase. The seemingly random symbols make much more sense now. They're ghost edges. ;)

First line is the edge from a Paramiliatary 2, second line is the edge from a Matriarch, third line is the edge is from an Autonomy, fourth line is the edge from an Ulize, and the fifth line is the edge from a Tasman.

Thank you for this Reveal. I was hoping for a smaller, and up-scale knife from Taichung in this version of the Reveal. I will instead purchase the Native 2.42" CPM-S90V Carbon Fiber (USA) if I am lucky enough to get one into my cart and pay for it.
Thinking about which Taichung blade to get next.......

My wallet rejoices. Not much at all in this reveal for me, but I’m sure there are a lot of exciting knives for others.

As I was saying on another thread, this is totally the "Serrated Release" -- I love it!
I think of this as more of a back lock and Chinese frame lock release.

I suspect that covid has been a disaster for the golden factory. Every folding knife in this release is foreign made. Perhaps Spyderco has hesitation to take on more golden made knives or sprints until it can catch up with the backlog of prior releases and exclusives.

Especially during these unpopular times. They could easy just be silent and sell knives and sharpeners. Yet they double down on police models and themes. Their public support means a lot.

And what is the meaning of this phrase? I do not understand.

Exactly! Just when you think you know everything about "the edge"... You learn something new. Knowledge about knife edges is like ghost hunting... You never actually find the whole thing.
Or maybe it's because the edge disappears and then reappears (after sharpening).

That's my philosophical take on Sal's quote. I'm sure he has a better answer.

100%! Could not agree with you more. All the more reason to love the company.

I'm kind of intrigued to see where this new emphasis on CE is going to go... FFG CE might change the minds of people who otherwise don't like CE, just like ffg se changed minds on people that don't like se

Another huge Seki reveal- lots of great stuff, and holy serrations, Batman! That serrated k390 Police could be my first Police. And of course, I must have a mug or three...

My guess is nothing in here will be made in massive quantities except maybe the resilience. Certainly feels like a place holder reveal. And I’m 100% ok with that.

I’ll prob get a police. Looks great
