Is this the first m4 to get used in the Seki factory? I thought usually their go-to carbon was cladded hap-40 for sprints.
Lightly insane.

It's cool, but since I need to have a period of no money spending for a while, it's also a very hard pass (for now, anyway).

Interesting they went with M4 instead of Hap40.

This is an odd one. I never hear anybody talk about their Rock Lobster?

It was an odd model that didn't seem to get much attention until it started getting modded, then it turns into a whole different beast.

Did you do the mod yourself? It's awesome!

Yep. Just a bit of cutting and grinding, not too hard really.

That's freakin' awesome ;)

Honestly though, it looks amazing, an improvement over the original IMO. Bravo sir!

Can't use the M4 down here. SPY27, S30V etc., H1 or LC200N would have been cool. Like M4 but need something more corrosion resistant.

Fascinating. I'm more interested in the idea that the Japan makers can use M4.

Is there a possibility of a Police 4 g10 in M4? *giggles*

Ha, your right. I thought that was an odd steel choice for that model. Maybe if it was called the Lumberjack or the Sasquatch... M4 would make more sense!

This is the first of the M4/jade sprints I've been interested in. If it drops after Blade and I have any money left, I may try to score one.

Good luck to all who want this one. I’ll content myself with hunting for the original.

Is there a plug and play deep carry clip for the Rock Lobster? The stock clip is my only hold-up.

I wanted this until I learned it’s made in Japan. Was really unhappy with the BHQ Lum Tanto quality, and not wanting a repeat performance. Bummer.

Man that’s a nice looking knife! I’m new to Spyderco. I got my first one for a birthday gift, the new Tropen. Loved it so I got the Endura 4 as another gift, and a Tenacious as another. My Spyderco birthday. 👍

No they aren't.
Lum Tanto and Lum Chinese used Hap40.

The Rocklobster was one of those knives that I really wanted to like. I got one in spite of the Foliage Green G-10 (yes, I know it was made for a reason and they had to get a lot to get it made, but I still think it's Ugly with a capital uhg). Once I had it in hand I realized Anso was not the designer for me and it went back in the box. A few years later, after seeing some of the mods others had done, I dug mine out and ground it down to where I could at least use it. Guess what? I still didn't like it. Lessons learned.
