Is something off with this Delica 4?

#1

Post by Dan In MI »

I found a lot on eBay containing a Delica 4:

It looks as if it's been put through the wringer, and I'm not sure I'd keep the other two knives very long. Though it doesn't seem like a counterfeit to me, something still seems off...but I can't quite put my finger on exactly what. Are my suspicions justified?

It is one of the older saber grind blades. Most people these days are used to the FFG blades.

Thanks for your reply, JR. The different grind was definitely throwing me off. I guess it could make a good carrier, but the price might be a bit high...

Yes, it is a sabre ground model. They are still made. The price is not too bad, not great, but not too bad. A new one just like it will set you back $84.

Thanks for the reply, Doc Dan. I'm still a little hesitant to trip the trigger on this lot, mainly because I don't see a whole lot of value in the other two (though I could be wrong) and I don't know if I'd want them.

Yeah, the other two...not so much. The Delica is the star of that group.
