Sprint Run Poll

#1

Post by Fireman »

The idea is if we have enough people here, especially Spyderco, agree and pre pay for a sprint run knife, What it should be. The two knives on the other thread that seem to be most popular are the Military and Shaman but you can obviously vote for any knife in the thread. The next thing would be to have consensus on steel and handle materials. The knives would have to be models made at Golden Colorado. Please consider options not previously made to have something unique.

My vote would be for a Native (Lil or Chief included) or a Siren with the lock fixed in Vanax.

Terro-Tuff or Micarta

Earth colors, OD Green, Forrest Green, Moss Green, Coyote, etc.

- Out of your list: Clearly and only Military.
- "Just" Golden?... Perhaps another Chief-version
- (NON Golden candidates for me: Sage 5 LW; Tenacious LW; always Endura)

- Handle material: Micarta or really "just" G10 (since the Millie and Chief don´t come in FRN)
- Steel: Nice tool steel, not picky about which one exactly
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

Voted Military/Other

Let's jump right into making a MagnaCut Military. I'd also be fine with a Chief.

A Waterway in Rex-45, but renamed to Landward.

Has Spyderco signed off on this idea, or are we in the hopeful stages?

This would be amazing!! Totally love the waterway, and REX 45 would boost it even more! (Not the least concerning the looks, when it developes a nice patina... )

I think something like a Para 3 would be more inclusive. If i had to pick from your list id say the Shaman.

Who is going to organize the finances and logistics for a run of 600 knives? This seems beyond hopeful...

that's the easy part. consensus is the impossibility of this kind of endeavor.

The only sprint run I'm asking for is a Native Chief in Maxamet, and I'd like some guarantee that I get one.

All the knives on the poll are made for people with "man hands".

I have baby hands, so none of the knives on the list work for me, lol.

Whatever the threshold is, all they would have to do is place an order with a special code emailed to them
