Re: KnifeJoker translucent manix2 lw
I still have my Hershey (XHP) one along with the SPY27 and regular ol' black w/BD1. I've given friends a trans blue BD1 and S110V. I've kept the ones I have because I like them. As much as I'd like the translucent green one I'm going to pass.
Of all the things I've lost I miss my mind the most!
Re: KnifeJoker translucent manix2 lw
Remembering that I waited too long to get one of those because I figured they'd be available for a while longer was what prompted me to order the 20CV today at the drop, hah
Re: KnifeJoker translucent manix2 lw
I caved and just ordered one at 925PM, EST.

Re: KnifeJoker translucent manix2 lw
I grabbed one as well. Took a while for his website to calm down but I’m really looking forward to this knife. It’s been years since I owned a m2lw
Re: KnifeJoker translucent manix2 lw
Congrats to all who got one!! :)
And just to reassure people with not much experience concerning the Manix 2 LW:
Sure, if I could choose for the same price I´d also take one with screws over one with pins.
But that being said: I´ve used a black LW (BD1) quite extensively some time ago, and now especially my REX 45 one too - no problems whatsoever with the pins, no need at all to ever disassemble the knives. Did not even have to adjust the pivots, though this could be done of course (screws, not pin there). In a way the pins have even the advantage that one can never loose a handle screw
Though I have to say: The CBBL is the only lock I don´t really know in detail, since I never had a (screwed) G10 Manix, and so never could disassemble one. I am not one of those who does this all the time with his folders, but I actually really like to do it at least once with each locktype (and of course did with back-, liner- and comp.lock) so I learn directly how it looks, works and can be maintained should need be.

Re: KnifeJoker translucent manix2 lw
I almost grabbed one but I'm saving my loot for other knives. If it was translucent orange I would have been all over it. I have a feeling this knife will be available in salt form(lc200n) soon enough and that one will get purchased for sure!

I eventually gave in bought one, however even at 1 AM it was the one of the worst online buying experiences. I swear they are running their server at home in the basement on a DSL connection. I’m unlikely to be a return customer.

Re: KnifeJoker translucent manix2 lw
I agree, it took me quite a while to get through when it looked like the traffic slowed down and grabbed one around 1:30 yesterday. Now I'm just hoping they will acknowledge my request to cancel the order since it looks like everyone I was going to offer it to on the exchange has one, and I already have a G10 (well CF) 20CV Manix. Hopefully trying to play nice guy doesn't backfire on me :p

Re: KnifeJoker translucent manix2 lw
I'm very happy to see another translucent Manix and I'm sure to get this one in 20CV.
Now if we could only get one with a clear translucent handle, as it was presented in the original production prototype!

Re: KnifeJoker translucent manix2 lw
Thank you sharing this one with us, Mr Blonde! :)
I did not know this one existed. I do have one similar to it though. Being a clear handled knife for display purposes, from another knife manufacturer.
I would like to formally apply to become part of your Will Mr Blonde, if I could please? I would like to be in the Will for this clear handled Manix 2, and the first production piece of the G10 version.
Thank you very much for understanding. :D

Re: KnifeJoker translucent manix2 lw
Beautiful image. I remember seeing your post years ago. I loved the translucent property of the FRCP, but didn't particularly care for the blue color that made it to production. But green is my favorite non-black color, so combining that with one of my favorite Spyderco designs and that cool translucent FRCP made this a must have for me. Plus, the dealer is based in California, and even if he is nearly 8 hours away, I kind of feel like I'm supporting a "local"-ish company :D

Re: KnifeJoker translucent manix2 lw
I bought one. I’ve been pestering them for years now to do one in translucent green. It would’ve been bad form to pass on it when one finally emerged. Even if the purchasing process was a total nightmare.
I’d like to see the full rainbow in translucent FRCP, along with the clear scales from the prototype. Maybe a translucent purple in the new Magnacut steel next? All we have to do is continue to mention it once every couple months for the next 5 years!

This would be really cool... and make it the first fully SE Manix 2 LW! :)

Re: KnifeJoker translucent manix2 lw
It never really existed as a production piece. I only got a few minutes with this prototype at an Amsterdam Meet to take a quick photo. I don't own it, so my will might not be that interesting to be included in. I did implore my wife years ago that if -God forbid- something happens to me, contact someone at Spyderco to help with the collection. And also stick a few folders in my casket so I can enter the afterlife with proper tools! ;-)SteveMidwest wrote: ↑Sat May 01, 2021 10:01 amI did not know this one existed. I'd -love- to see a full SE lightweight Manix!
