Re: KnifeJoker translucent manix2 lw
I have a soft spot for lightweight designs with colored handles, so this was a no-brainer for me; great knife!
Re: KnifeJoker translucent manix2 lw
Mine arrived today. Fit and finish are perfect, action is great as well. Never had a problem with a M2LW. This one is no exception.

Mine arrived today. It’s just about free dropping, forgot how great the ergos were. Very happy with this one. Was at a different stage in my knife hobby when I sold my s110v model. Definitely now have more appreciation for this one.
Still wish it packed a bit more sharpened edge for the handle sized, but regardless this knife is built for the hand and for work. Happy I went for it.

More and more tempting as time goes on. If it's still in tomorrow I may have to go for it...

Re: KnifeJoker translucent manix2 lw
Did anyone mention those scales also resemble the N64?
Re: KnifeJoker translucent manix2 lw
It sells at a price lower than that of the SPY27 version. Isn't 20cv superior to SPY27?

Re: KnifeJoker translucent manix2 lw
In edge retention yes, but "superior" is a subjective thing... I haven't tried SPY27 yet, but if it had even better edge stability and was easier to get a blazing sharp fine edge on then I'd call SPY27 superior, even though it has worse edge retention in test cutting media. It does seem that SPY27 is slightly cheaper on average though. Plus I think exclusives have their price set by the shop/distributor that commissions them, so they often seem to have slightly discounted prices compared to regular production models at MAP.
That said, M390 family steels are considered by many to be near the top tier of stainless offerings. I like it (and analogs) for the ease of sharpening and excellent fine edge retention, it's everything I was led to believe ZDP 189 would be (and more), but ZDP and I have never hit it off

Thanks for the explanation, David. I have been convinced by a couple of forumites to add a M2LW to my collection. I was seriously considering the SPY27 version till i saw this thread. The price of the KnifeJoker traslucent 20cv + shippment + taxes and import duties when it enters the custom territory of the European Union is similar to the price of a SPY27 version acquired at one of the European online stores. 3 euros (4.60 USD) higher to be precise.
I think I'll go for the SPY27 because I already have a 20cv blade in my collection.
As to ZDP 189, it is out of my radar screen, poor (or lower) corrosion resistance is a game stopper for me. :D

Re: KnifeJoker translucent manix2 lw
Don’t forget that Spy27 is a relatively low production exclusive steel for Spyderco. It is more expensive than more readily available steels for that reason. Sal mentioned it awhile back.

All these great pictures pushed me over the edge. I also like knives in 20cv...

I'll always think of this knife as the M64 now
