Does rit dye penetrate much into FRN? Just curious if it takes up dye pretty well, or if you'd start seeing teal on peaks and edges with a little use.

I’m actually thinking of doing green rit to darken the teal and it might not be as big an issue. But if you go red might make purple lol. As far as wear I’ve only experienced rit on gun parts and it hasn’t worn off of those pieces

Please post a picture if you do, forest green was kind of what I was mulling over as well. I guess I might even be able to dye a light color like teal OD green to match my preferred Magpul OD furniture color.... and I would like some S90V to compare to my S110V.

I'm in for one, and now I can give my wife back her teal dragonfly. I don't give much thought to colors being wimpy or sissy, but I also think ranger panties are perfectly acceptable public attire. I like what I like, no one has to understand it.

Standard workout attire over 60 degrees. My neighbors get an eye full. “Sky’s out, thighs out”.

Pro tip: Wearing ranger panties and carrying around the biggest cucumber you can find in the produce section renders your knife color invisible. If you're lucky, it also gets you out of going to the grocery store. I'm unlucky, my wife finds it hilarious.

I think Teal would look better with Khaki UDT Shorts. :cool:

No. It doesn't penetrate at all really and it will show wear with use.

I walked in the snow, up-hill both ways to order my 20CV KnifeJoy P3 on March 25th. There shouldn't have been too much inflation in the last month...

Regardless, for those of us possessed of a basic set of diamond sharpening equipment, I'd posit that both the 20CV for $129.95 and the S90V for $140.00 offer more value than the SPY27 for $140.00 (although it's probably the best color). For anyone who disagrees, I'll gladly trade you my SPY27 for your S90V.... What, no takers?

I would recommend using RIT synthetic dye. I had no problems dyeing my Salt 2, it took the dye perfectly. It's best if you go darker and stay in the same color family. For example a darker shade of blue.

That was my bad, lol. Since we were talking about a DLT release, I was thinking the M390 Para 3 LW that was released in 2019 for $130. >.<

So S90V is $10 more than 20CV in knives that are otherwise identical aside from the handle color. But the 20CV version was exclusive to 1 dealer, while the S90V version is a distributor exclusive that went to 15+ dealers. So there was an extra shipping step and the distributor who paid for the run up front got their cut too. Plus we don't know the raw material cost of 20CV vs S90V. We do know that S90V takes longer to sharpen than 20CV, so S90V probably takes more time and / or grinding belts to finish as well. But we're splitting hairs over a street price difference of less than 10%?
