Who else is looking forward to the K390 SE Endura?

I’m very excited to hear what people think of this one, as K390 is a great steel and the proposed geometry is very attractive! Curious though- if they couldn’t grind the performance Delica thinly enough in K390, I wonder how they’re managing with the FFG serrated edge here?

I am waiting for this one to drop. The k390 mule has made this steel one of my favorites. The se k390 with have to wait. I lost my pacific salt se last fall deer hunting and I need to replace it. The pacific salt 2 in lc200n will be ordered soon. The wharncliffe se endura also has my eye also.

SE K390 *EVERYTHING* I will buy one of every k390 model made in SE without question. Probably looking forward to the P4 & Stretch2 (Drop Point or SSS) the most.

The issue is K390 has heavy amounts of Vanadium carbide that is harder than the Alumina Ceramic used in the medium and above Spyderco stones. You may have issues with carbide tear-out using those stones. As I see it you'll be stuck finishing on the Diamond/CBN rods.

How is K390 for sharpening? I don’t mind tough to sharpen steels for PE but I’m a little weary of it for SE.

I am thinking about selling my v-toku2 stretch 2 if or when I could get a stretch 2 in k390
But seeing as I don’t own any fancy sharpening gear ( just Ken onion belt sharpening and a DMT 750grit and some strop stuff) !
My old 440 delica 4 sharpen up good with my belt but a worry about the hard steel I want

I love the Endura (once I shave down that first finger bump) and I love K390. This is going to have to go on my want list.
