Interest in an Ikuchi sprint or exclusive?

#1

Post by Catamount123 »

The DLT exclusive Kapara has given me a ray of hope that this could happen. Cruwear and linen micarta is in fashion these days, and I’d definitely be on board for that, but there are other steel/scale combos that would work for me.

Who else is on board?

It’s been brought up a few times before and I’m always for it. I definitely think a tool steel like cruwear as you said would work to really push that blade design.
Lightly insane.

I held out on the Kapara in hopes of more exciting steel, and I’ve been doing the same for the Ikuchi.

Rex45 Ikuchi would make a fun knife.

Ikuchi seems like an ideal model for lots of sprints or exclusives. Hopefully one of the big retailers or distributors is paying attention.

I think the Ikuchi suffered from it’s extended break-in period. It’s a spectacular design once knife and user have broken each other in.

Sprints are never a bad idea. ;) And the Ikuchi is amongst my favourite Spydies. So elegant. So special.

How about a larger Ikuchi though? Still slim, yet say 20% larger? I'd dig that....

I would love a Solid Contoured CF S90V with blacked out hardware and clip. It would be a perfect dress carry!

Yeah I'm definitely on board for an Ikuchi in cruwear and micarta. I've been wanting to add an Ikuchi to my collection but have been waiting for the right version. Hopefully it'll happen.

I’d definitely be down for some ikuchi variations!! Even if it’s 20cv and micarta!

I’ve never owned an Ikuchi but always found the design interesting. I’m just not a big fan of the CF/G10 laminated scales, so that combined with the S30V blade steel wasn’t exciting enough to get me to try it. I’d definitely be interested in it with new scales and steel.

100%

Give it the salty LC200N treatment, like it should have been initially. ;)

Nice idea! I might sell my S30V regular version for this.

an ikuchi salt would be nice. it would have to be a considerable upgrade in steel and not much more expensive, otherwise. not saying it wouldn't be worth whatever it costs, but i'm fine with s30v over almost anything else if it saves me more than $10-15.

I'd definitely be interested, but it would depend on scale material. The fancy carbon fibers do very little for me. I'd be all in on any sort or Micarta, or even a more economical G10. OR.. I've always thought that the Ikuchi would look super classy with some type of wooden scale.. maybe a Birdseye Maple sprint run with CTS-XHP?

(Steel is negotiable, XHP jumped to mind because of the recent Chap configuration..)

Ikuchi is a Japanese sea monster, so a salt version would make some sense ;)
