My current thought is white, which we've used before for sprints.

I was wanting white, but thought it would get shot down. Love the idea of RIT dying!

I'm not likely to RIT dye anything as it is not available over here. Still, white is okay by me.

White would be great, and as said above, easy to dye if you don't like it.

White FRN sounds good to me, but I'm not too picky with colors.
If a serrated version is made, I'd call it the "Great White Delica", just because I'm still thinking about sharks!

I don't know what it does to price, but I'd like to see that gold lock bar make a return (Massdrop Delica4 & Endura4). Even if the scales are white.
I also like Mr Huegel's idea of the Lotus chrome orange w/ black.

Very cool.

I had the older 'NASA' White Delica CE sprint, it was a great handle color. Went great with a fresh pair of Nikes.

I also think its a nice, friendly color.

It's cool, I almost am over the FOMO / buying craze of all standard production models. Now I can plan my purchases around these super interesting sprint runs (and the Mules, and the Native 5s, and certainly others... I'm not reformed yet) !
:respect In the collection :respect : Lots of different steels, in lots of different (and same) Spydercos.

Bladesteel wise, I like VG10. That will provide the best 'control' for performance between the High Hollow and the current FFG VG10.

I 100% want VG10 for this reason as well as using the SM Brown rods as the control sharpening media.

I think this will be a VERY popular sprint run, especially considering the large fan base for the Delica and the amount of time the model has been in production. So I would advocate for a sprint run at high numbers.

Regarding steel... VG-10 isn't my favorite, but I think it performs very well with very thin edge geometries (i.e., kitchen knives), so VG-10 would likely perform very well and make sense in a high-performance Delica that is very thin behind the edge.

I have never had a delica because it’s a little bit small for my liking and if I am going to carry a back lock I usually prefer a larger knife. I’m probably in for this one if nothing comes up though. I love a thin edge.

I'm definitely in for 2 of these. VG10 is fine, because it's about the geometry. Although, I wouldn't mind seeing this in V-toku-2 unclad. I thinned out the edge on my V-toku-2 Delica, and it's a cutting beast.

I was trying to visualise the shape of this blade and how it would work with the hollow grind when I realised I already had one. The Centofante 3! I've had it for over 15 years and it was always my go-to small Spyderco. I always thought the Delica was too little and too ugly. I have one now in K390 but maybe a K390 Centofante 3 would be the ultimate high performance Delica!

I have been reading this thread from time to time as it has evolved. Only have a couple Delicas , white scales would definitely interest me . MG2

Hi Awa,

Funny you would bring that up. It was yesterday that we contacted the maker on the model. It's not a matter of "how long the model takes". The maker is also very busy and running at capacity. Mostly making existing models that are also growing in demand. So we're constantly adjusting priorities on models on the "hold" queue. We just asked for the 2023 price on the HP Delica model and we'll be moving it forward in the next few weeks. It will still take a while before you get them, but you will get them. Also it's just a sprint so I'll need to pick quantity in the next few days. Thoughts?

sal

First thought is: YAHOOOOO!!!
...after that, I certainly couldn't forecast demand, not only is that well above the rating of my crystal ball, but I'm frequently baffled by which Sprints sell out instantly and which stick around.
Since everyone is saying they want 2-3, I guess I'd vote for a large run, that way I can at least get one.

The best news is that now I need to start watching for the drop!

I'll admit to poking the thread out of frustration, I'm just glad that it turned over some hot coals ;)

If it turns out to be white (and I love the blade) I may wind up putting some Flytanium scales on it, or I could just finally use the bottle of royal purple RIT I bought a few years back.

...yeah, don't love white knives, I use 'em too much for one to stay that color long.

For the sake of comparison is a reason given for the existence of a HHG VG-10 Delica. Most knife AFI's already know what properties HHG brings to the party. Perhaps the "lesser" High Performance VG-10 Delica will be a grand success. You never know. I certainly don't.
