You're probably thinking, "no David you're wrong because the HAWKBILL is more aggressive", and you wouldn't be wrong for thinking that but it doesn't slice as well as the standard version and being a hawkbill means it isn't as versatile.

Now if only we could get a Ladybug Salt in FFG LC200N and serrations!

I have to agree with this. I own more Spyderco knives than I care to admit and this is my most used knife. It really is a beast for its size.

There may be a good chance that many of the Seki Salts will be available in LC200N in the future. Seeing as how the Ladybug is not offered in LC200N at present, I see a K390 ladybug in my not too distant future for me. :)

I have the manbug salt but yes.

It would be the number one spyderco I would recommend to people who dont care about knives at all.

It will cut anything.
Its rustproof.
Its tough as nails.
It can go indefinitely with zero maintenance.
You could arguably get away with never sharpening it.
Small.
Light.
Cheap.
Non threatening.
Throw it in a purse or glove box for 20 years and it wont care.

I do not think there can be an argument made against this choice. Preferences, yes, but argument no. At 0.6 oz it is hard to beat. I have the hawk, and it does cut like something off of star wars, but some things it just does not do as good of a job as a standard Manbug or Ladybug because of the blade shape. So, I agree. The Spyderedge Ladybug Salt is pound for pound the best performer Spyderco makes.

Always wanted to like the LB and MB, but I can't get a good grip on them during use or when trying to open them one handed.

The Spin has a much better handle for me.

It's definitely not a "draw it into action" knife, it couldn't be a high paced work knife. For that I'd go with an ARK or Dragonfly. Also that little bit of lanyard fob does help to fill my grip and makes one handed opening much easier.

No argument here. That knife is a real performer.

The K390 Ladybug is probably my most carried knife since it dropped. I always favored the Manbug because I find it easier to manipulate with XL hands, but the K390 LB dropped first and I now favor the size and blade shape over the MB as my smaller, secondary carry. Tried H1 serrations in quite a few knives, but always come back to PE tool steel when I can.

you read my mind about the hawkbill. i consider it more versatile because i always have another folder on me and it doesn't just duplicate my edc. the lb salt se is great though, either way.

now we just need a ticn/red and black zome version!

Three times the weight (so still really light), yes, but same thin bladestock but in ffg, a full handle and a much longer cutting edge should make it a much better performer not in all, but many tasks? (But I don't know if THREE times better )

Well, I was thinking about picking up a Manbug to have a second Spyderco in the bottom of my pocket (or maybe as a keychain knife, or maybe as a neck knife), but perhaps I'll have to take another look at the Ladybug.

I’d say the ManBug. It’s always on one of my keychains. I tried several including LadyBug before settling on ManBug Sheepsfoot SpyderEdge Salt H-1. Great for opening packages and a mini rescue knife. Given a choice I’d go with a ManBug Wharnie SpyderEdge Salt LC200N as long as the 1/4” at the tip was straight edge just like my new Salt2 Wharncliffe SpyderEdge LC200N.
