Authenticity question - Spyderco Cat

Hi folks I was wondering if anyone could help me out with an authenticity question or give any background on this Spyderco Cat I recently purchased.

It is a 440C version from back in 2011, NOS I believe. It is from a smaller Spyderco dealer but a legit one to my knowledge.

Anyway after receiving the knife and looking at it I thought it was odd that the back side of the blade wasn't marked with Taiwan, as pretty much every other Spyderco I own has an origin marking. Anyone know if some Cat's came without a Taiwan marking? Most of the pictures and YouTube videos I've seen show it with Taiwan on the non-show side of the blade. I didn't think this would be a model that has clones out there.

This is really weird.

I had one of the S30V/CF Cats, then bought one of the 440C ones when I saw one at my local spyderco dealer and I specifically remember thinking it was weird that the S30V one had the Taiwan marking but the 440C one did not.

That must have been 10 years ago, and I haven't thought of it since, until seeing this. Both knives are long gone, unfortunately (the S30V/cf one, especially).

Like you, I can't seem to find any pictures without the Taiwan marking.

Yours doesn't have jimping, either. Mine is from that time frame and it has both jimping and Taiwan. If yours is legit I'd say it was a more recent version than 2011.

I don't remember what year that I bought mine but it is stamped Taiwan and doesn't have any jimping.

Is the box available? I'd like to see the label.

It seems to me that we do not know something.
They have been produced with steel 440C since 2011. Previously, it was not. Here is the 2011 knife. It has Taiwan markings on it.

That knife is dated 2011, yet it does not have jimping. I am really confused because every knife I have seen from 2011 had jimping and was marked Taiwan and 440C.
