Hol up though, has anyone heard anything about dlt fixing their server problems? Last sprint they dropped was near impossible to get reasonably because of how often the site went out.
First, Sprints only come from Spyderco. Exclusives come from dealers.

The last two Exclusives, from DLT lasted way longer than thought possible.

Get with the program
The para 2 sprints and exclusives are played out at this point compared to the very first exclusive (or sprint) of the Kapara. I suspect that DLT’s site will be a dumpster fire at the release time.

I disagree, the para 2 and 3 will always be a main staple.

Sure theres going to be heavy traffic, but DLT does a good job

EDIT,,,,,,,,,, they have the fastest shipping in the business!

Love the way it looks, but I will probably pass.

I like it as well, but likely won’t be an immediate buyer.
The few exclusives/sprints I like, I plan to find later on the secondary market.

Thanks for the heads up, Julia. I've never gotten a Kapara because I felt that the slim handle and smooth CF scales would make the knife slippery in use. This exclusive with G10 scales might be the answer to those concerns.

I was ready to buy one based on all the feedback I was seeing, then Sal posted up about how pleased they were with the sales and that some exclusives were coming so I decided to wait, I'm glad I did. I see that they are selling for $5 *LESS* than the base S30V model, well done DLT!

I'll wager <15 min before they are sold out . . .

Dlt shipping is very slow imo. Took 7 days last week to get from their shop to ma. I ordered a Lynch clip the same day and it arrived a day earlier and was 2x as far. So no, their shipping is slow. It actually sat in their state for like 3 days before tracking had movement.....

I just bought a custom shop bugout with grey G10 and 20cv blade, I think I may scoop this one up and have them compete against each other. Loser gets sold :D

That's probably USPS's fault rather than DLTs. I've always had super fast shipping from them, but they can't control post office overload.

I thought it was titanium and my drought would have ended!! But...more G10 :( Just can't get excited for G10 anymore.
Screw construction though. Now I just have to decide if I want to make burlap micarta or ebony scales...
Can't wait to see what you make! Either one would look incredible, I'm sure.

Hmm. Not my ideal configuration for a Kapara sprint (I've wanted S90V for ages, and some sort of handle material classier than G10. Raffir Noble's been growing on me lately) but I'm probably going to try to get it anyways if it doesn't sell out in 30 seconds.

It looks like smooth G10 to me. I have two exclusives from Taichung with smooth G10 (Smock & Positron) and they're both kind of slick. Early on I thought I'd never want smooth scales. Turns out I was wrong. It's a non-issue for me. Even the Kapara with smooth CF is a non-issue. I actually like them because they're easier on the pockets

Dang another grey knife. Probably not for me
Gray could be easily dyed...
Good point but I already have the regular Kapara and I actually really like the marbled CF. I have plenty of 20CV (plus M390 & 204P) and for my use it's not really any better than S30V. So the only reason I'd buy this exclusive is to get a Kapara with the updated pivot. If I was going to upgrade I'd probably just by another CF version.

I love the looks of it, but not sure if I can justify spending that much.

Once it's in the shipper's hands, it's not on DLT (or any other business, for that matter). After that it's up to USPS, etc., to get it the rest of the way. DLT usually has it in the mail the very same day the order is placed. Can't get much faster than that. My last order showed up in 3 days and I'm about the same distance away as you, if not a bit farther.

I see. Thanks for the insight about how the smooth scales behave in actual use. Maybe I will try the regular CF Kapara if I fail to snag the DLT exclusive.

I am going to try for this one. Grey and decent steel are right in my like zone. Nice to see some love for other models.
