This is where the Caribbean design absolutely outclasses the Military and everything else in this edge size, it has the same cutting edge as a Military but in a significantly smaller package overall. It's really the final answer to this entire debate. The basic design could even be made more compact if they tweaked the handle shape a little, and they could even add a wee bit more blade length into this same handle.

They could easily squeeze another 5-6mm more blade length in there.
I'm right with you - edge length to handle ratio on the Caribbean is amazing. I personally prefer backlock to comp lock, and the pocket carry of the chief is way better than the Caribbean for me, nice and slim. A choil-less Chief would be my "final answer" dream knife.

Sal has said he has a design for a choiless Shaman. Fingers crossed. I'd be totally ok with a back lock too.

... or at least a linerlock.
I´d buy both a linerlock Shaman (if choilless, even better) and linerlock Caribbean in a heartbeat (sure a backlock would be even better)
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

Agreed. It would work well with a liner lock, they're good for keeping the edge close to the handle. If they can make the ergonomics similar to the regular Shaman and maybe squeeze more edge length in place of the choil it might be THE ONE for me. Gotta keep that edge far back though, I can't have any snag points.

David, you might like the Tenacious LW in S35VN - as soon as it comes in full SE (which I would have preferred too, but right now one can only get it in PE and CE) - I know, you´d prefer the larger Resilience, but the Tenacious offers at least an Endura cutting egde already... [Edit: The Tenacious edge looks a bit shorter than it actually is in the pic, compared to the Endura, since the tip is a bit farther away from the camera]

So why don’t you just carry it in your back pocket?
