Still in stock

I really like my rex45 version, if this hangs around for awhile, I will probably get one after these other sprints drop

I also love the color combo but hate coated blades. Going to stand pat on my cf/s90v and rex45 chiefs for now and save up for future sprints. Well, unless I see one for a great deal on the secondary lol

I’m a bit saddened by those comments about RIT dyeing the orange G10 black given how rare those exclusive color scales are in general.

I know it means buying a second regular black G10 Chief, but I would do that, swap the scales, and then sell off the NIB orange S30V one for the same price (or more) as the black G10 Chief on the secondary market. I’m 100% positive someone would buy it and be incredibly appreciative of having the orange scales, and you haven’t lost them to the ages in the process.

Totally agree. I'm not into dyeing either. My plan is to set up this nice orange scales to the s90v, carbon fiber is going to rex45 with deep patina and blacked xhp blade with burnt orange scales. I don't intend to sell any of my chiefs so all this is entirely my personal preference. Although I still wait for the cutlery shoppe one to arrive. It could take weeks.

I guess the sales are not going as anticipated. It makes me a little sad. It's a beautiful large knife. But I guess long blades are harder to be sold than the sub 3,5in ones. Unless there's some exotic steel involved.

Eh. I think they might sit on this stock for a while. Im tempted to get a backup, just because I love the color, but I really need to slow down on purchases.

I think one of their native 5 exclusives was around for months if not a year.

I would have bought one if it weren't sandwiched between the Rex45 and potential 4V release. I'm more interested in both of those steels and scale colors.

Just got mine. It took good two and a half weeks, but it's finally here. Fit and finish are top notch. No surprises there. All black blade with all black hardware and bright orange scales looks awesome. Can't hide I'm happy. :D

I dislike black G10 well enough to be incredibly appreciative of one of these. Amazingly I don't have a single knife in S30V either.

Well, I went for it... :D

Image

After the swap, the black lockbar and backspacer sit a little proud in the black scales and vice versa in the orange, but it’s negligible.

Very Nice! :D
I've been wanting to do the same thing with the s90v carbon fiber version but it's so flush and flawless that I'm hesitant to take it apart.

Yeah, I’ve thought about doing the same with a cf Manix 2 I have, (154/s90v 2nd,) but I haven’t gone for it yet.
