Spyderedged Sprint Runs: Your Picks

#1

Post by JD Spydo »

The Spyderco company has truly blessed us with several top notch Sprint Runs over the years and for that I'm extremely grateful. I'm even EDCing my 2011 era C-60 Ayoob model with the G-10 handle. And I'm looking so forward to the new, upcoming C-60 Ayoob Sprint Run for that reason as well. And happy to say that particular Sprint Run is going to be offered in PE & SE both. Truly a big step in the right direction in my humble opinion.

But over the years I've really been sort of frustrated with the lack of Spyderedged units in Sprint Runs as I know a few more forumites are too. For instance I've been beating the drum for many years for a Sprint Run of the Dodo, Temp 1, Caly Jr., and the big C-54 Calypso and several others that were absolutely awesome back in the old days to be made available in full SE.

OK there's a few of my picks for Sprint Runs to be done in full Spyderedge and I would like to hear from the rest of you and the picks you all desire to see return in SE. I could also add the C-111 Captain, Ulize and Superhawk to that impressive list that many of us would like to see in full Spyderedge. Think about it folks and tell us what you would like to see in a Sprint Run in full SE :)

I give you a HUGE HIGH FIVE on the Dodo and the Catcherman on that elite list of yours. Even most of the more ardent Spyderco fans have never got to see first hand how great the Catcherman is in full SE. The first time I got one about 20 years ago I was amazed that it went through an uncooked pork tenderloin like a laser.

The Dodo in full SE might just be the best short bladed model in full SE of anything in Spyderco's great line up. Yes I would love to see those 2 in particular return ASAP.

Ulize is still #1 on my wish list.

Military with a thinner "Caribbeanish" grind.

Centofante 3/4 or just bring back the Vesuvius too.

Endura with a wave hook so I can finally have a SE Endura with the Glock tool.

and the ever-wanted, still non-existent FRN PM2, or a Salt PM2/Para3

Temp 1, Military, Police 4, Street Beat and Swick. Off the top of my head those are the only SE knives I'd really like to own that aren't currently made. Swick is in the works though.

Military.
I would also say police 4 but it looks like that will happen anyway.

Trust me my friend ;) One way or the other we are going to see a full SE version of the ULIZE. There are just too many of us that want to see a premium recurve in full SE for Spyderco to ignore us forever. I had to beat the drum for quite a while to see the return of the C-60 Ayoob and I'm not giving up on the SE version of the ULIZE either.

And I'm actually surprised that we haven't seen another SE version of the Military but I do think that one might be on the horizon as well. Again there are just way too many hard core Spyder fans that want to see the full SE version of the Military.

The TEMP 1 is a savage beast in SE. It's one of my Spyders that I just won't ever trade or sell. The TEMP 1 model was just simply perfect right out of the gate. No modifications or improvements are necessary. I wish Spyderco would realize just how good of performers that their fixed blades are in full SE.

I also give you my full support on the STREETBEAT and SWICK both in full Spyderedge. My late best friend who EDCed his Streetbeat was always asking me when he could get a Streetbeat in full SE and I've got a feeling that there are many more who would like one as well.

Give some teeth to the Breedens: A CE Captain and SE Breeden Rescue.

Bring back the Reverse-S Meerkat.

Ooo, and a SE Khukri. With that steep negative blade angle it's practically a hawkbill.
