Cru-wear TiCN dragonfly exclusive

#1

Post by JuPaul »

Ramzar posted this in the "delivered and upcoming" thread. Looks like a black Cru-wear blade and black scales...frn or maybe carbon fiber???

That is the perfect dragonfly but I am having a hard time justifying the $168 price tag. Especially after all of my recent knife purchases.

Wow, yeah, MAP of $168 is steep! Reminds me of the Fradon carbon fiber delica that had its price reduced like 3 times. With that said, that Delica had a lot of fit and finish issues. If Seki has that all figured out, then the price could be justified.

Dragonfly - check
Cruwear - check
CF - meh
Price - ah, heck no!

For the love of the Spyder, please make Cruwear a standard steel so we don't have to act like trained circus dogs jumping through flaming hoops for a chance to overpay for it.

I agree. Maybe with the PM2 cruwear now being standard production we will hopefully see more models.

Do folks know which retailers have accounts with this distributor? I saw the WayofKnife link in the “delivered & upcoming” thread, but am wondering if other retailers will carry this.

It seems like some distributor exclusives get spread out across a number of outlets while others are only available from one retailer.

I’m just thankful I was able to get a DF2 in S30v. TiCN is a hard pass anyway.

It is very close to the price of a REX-45 Native Chief. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It looks great and all but, as much as I hate to say it, the $168 price tag would be a big no for me too. I'll wait for the K390 Wharnie. I have others to use in the mean time

That Way of Knife website lists the MSRP at $195.99, which should be a MAP of $137.19. So maybe the street price will be lower if other dealers get their hands on them. I’d still have to pass at that price, though. My K390 Dragonfly has been working great for me and was significantly less expensive.

That looks awesome. Sadly - I understand the the price - look at other Spyderco knives with solid carbon fiber handles.

Interesting. $137 is definitely more palatable. At that price I'll probably get one. I don't usually go for black scales, but I'm kinda digging the all blacked out knives lately.

Looks amazing! Not a huge fan of little knives and it is a bit pricey. Gonna be a pass for me. For dragonfly fans this looks like a home run!

I'm yet to have a black blade with carbon fiber, fantastic looking knife. As said though, that price is steep. I'm looking at a fixed blade with 3V and carbon fiber scales for only $30 dollars more right now.
