Are they even allowed to do that, selling an item even when it's not in your possession yet?

It's a sketchy practice but they might be a collector or something that's guaranteed a knife. I just wouldn't pay that inflated price until they were all sold out.

$260? LOL. Funny how people are justifying the cost to themselves.

Or for serious Spyderco collectors and enthusiasts but we're all entitled to an opinion. :)

I'm glad I was able to easily get one of these because I agree with MRJ, this was a must have.

I think from a collector's standpoint, this is a must-have. I am not getting this one since I'm not a PM2 completist but I totally respect those who will. I can only imagine how the value will skyrocket a few years after this release...I mean, I have seen serious PM2 collectors pay twice-thrice the price for the "rare" Bayoushooter PM2 whose only real difference from the standard DLC PM2 is a laser engraving on the blade...

But what I would really like, for those who bought 2 or more, is to know how durable the flag graphic on the blade is in regular use. Hope to see test results here in the forum.

I love the flag blade

But, I have one complaint. The flag is going the wrong way. The U.S. Flag is NEVER running away.

I feel like that is a pretty major miss. Just my $.02.

I thought the same thing about the direction of the flag, it should be facing the other direction with the union displayed on the left. Although, since it is also being displayed with the Colorado flag, I'm giving it the pass this time on a technicality. LOL :D

Spyderco must be desperate for cash in selling these at full MSRP, no discounts and nothing to pay to dealers! Hard pass!

Don't be silly...you know that's not happening here! Just like everyone clamoring for those REC exclusives with that other coating. They'll cut an apple or piece of paper at most for a torture test. I've seen many say they got one of those exclusives over the past couple years, post a pretty pic, but nothing to show any use or provide any sort of useful feedback.

At least the flag is oriented correctly on the other side of the blade.

Ok, now we KNOW these will be in stock for many many MANY days....

I'd appreciate if we could stop bashing. If you like this knife, post it. If you don't like it, post it, but stay polite, then stop dropping further loads. And for heaven's sake, keep politics out.

Me personally, I'm torn. I won't buy one mostly because of the price. Not totally sure I like the looks, but I fully respect the motivation, and applaud Spyderco for realizing this project! If the knife would cost half, I'd get one for sure.

It's nice to see Spyderco come out with a knife showing support for their state. However it's a pass for me.

That's great! Everyone that really wants one has a good opportunity to get one. I have no doubts that it will sell out. :)
