Unexpected blade-shapes (whether edges or spines) in models I have come to love have been playing havoc with my comfort zone.
Clearly, I need to get over my idée fixe regarding what constitutes a model.
FOMO got me wanting the straight-spine Stretch. Got it with the idea that it was a self-closing PM2 with an even more practical edge, but I couldn’t bring myself to like the ivory handle and sold it. The upcoming K390 Stretch is now on my radar, even though I prefer the look of a drop-point spine, especially as it closes into the Stretch’s curvaceous handle. K390 is one of faves, and the Police4 got me past European steels in Japan-made Spydies.
FOMO has now got me wanting a drop-point UKPK (love of blade-shape) and the tanto PM2 (more for the love of the blade’s sculpture-like grinds than for the edge, which I would want compare to my recurve Spydies).
So, if a tanto PM2 now intrigues, why not a sheepified wharnie PM2. I’ll be watching.
