I like mine very much! Love the coolness of the phantom lock, although I can imagine it may open accidently when you hold the knife in a funny way. Hasn't happened to me yet. After all, it's a small (yet very handy!) Spydie, not made for really hard work.

I just got mine a couple weeks ago. I dig it a lot. KnivesPlus has/had that VToku2 for a decent sale price and I’ve always wanted to try one. Love the lock. Surprisingly fidgetable. Solid lockup. None of the typical Seki City little wiggle. More like the Golden backlocks. And VToku of course is just absolutely great. Easy to touch up and gets screaming sharp.

Would love to see a new Sage with a Phantom lock too

I don’t see it ever accidentally opening. I drop it in pocket with keys and stuff and never as issue.

I meant unlock, in your hand, when one squeezes the handles in a funny way. You only need to move the unlocking scale a little bit to set the blade free. Like I said, it has never happened to me. But odds are.....

I repeat, it's a handy little knife, and I like mine alot!

I have one in HAP40. It's a stout little bugger and fun to fidget. Takes a screaming edge and I've broken down a lot of heavy cardboard boxes with it over the last couple of years.

i'd love to try one of these, but they're only offered occasionally and in steels that i don't want to mess with. i wish it was a production model in a more standard steel. it seems weird to have gone through the trouble to develop this lock and produce a knife like this and then just not have them available.

I just got one in HAP40 and it’s definitely cool. Very sheeple friendly too.

I love the Meerkat. I don't find the lock activates accidentally while using it.

I’ve had a Meerkat for around 20 years now. I mainly bought it for the novelty of the phantom lock. The blade on mine is 440C. Good knife. Not one of my favorites, but definitely a keeper.

I have a maroon VG-10 version. Great little knife, the egos are amazing for being so small.

It's a little thick for me to carry, but undeniably cool! I've never had lock problems.

The Hap 40 Meerkat was one of my first Spydercos and I love it... since it's almost impossible to close unless you know the trick, I can't really imagine it closing unintentionally.
