Who's up for a K390 version of the Caly 3.5 LW in the works?
Sal has said the maker is willing/able to work with K390. I’d love to see K390 right out of the gate, but I think the initial version is likely to be VG-10, or another stainless, and understand why that makes sense.
I don't get people who only carry one knife

Sure
I'd also love for the Japanese makers to give us some srs13/15

Caly 3.5 LW will have almost everything I like in a folder.
Tbh, I am perfectly fine with VG10, and have to experience K390 yet. But I guess it would be great to have the Caly in BOTH steels, like I have my Endura and Stretch 1 in VG10 and HAP40, and the Manix LW in BD1N and REX45.

Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

I would prefer a Caly3.5 with G10 and K390

I am definitely grabbing one of these. I love FRN and K390. I haven’t owned a Caly3.5 before so I’m excited to try it out.

Yes yes yes. I'd also love a G10 version as well!

A G10 Caly 3.5 would be great, if Moki can iron out some of the QC issues which detracted from their last Caly offerings.
At their peak, their quality was superb.

Ditto this. If it's a LW Caly 3.5, I'll be happy to obtain it in just about any steel.

My hope is that if they run K390 in a lightweight Caly 3.5, the blade would be swappable into a G10 frame. I have a black G10/VG-10 Caly 3.5 that would love to carry that K390 blade. Otherwise, I’d absolutely be down for a new G10 K390 offering as well! :)

Caly 3.5 lightweight in k390 would be an instant buy for me.

WITH teeth in the first place and then also without... :D

I like both options.
I hope the quality control has been worked out. My old Caly3 impressed me and started me down the rabbit hole. It is a great knife. I am looking forward to seeing the 3.5.

I will be all over this! I’ve never handled one, but I can just sorta tell that it’s about perfect for my hand and uses. Looks like a slimmer Stretch handle or like if Police 4 met Endela.
I’d love it in FRN or G-10. I’d go for a PE version of this particular model first, and K390 will be an awesome steel for this design.

Re: Who's up for a K390 version of the Caly 3.5 LW in the works?
The Moki factory began to have issues when the grandfather and father of the clan running the shop passed away, and it has taken a bit of time for the grandson to bring everything back up to speed. Their shop produced some absolutely superb designs in the past, so I'm very optimistic that those days will return.
I'm definitely looking forward to what they come up with for the final version of the lightweight Caly 3. I'm pretty sure I remember handling a prototype a couple of years ago at OKCA and I commented to Eric I wasn't the biggest fan of the less grippy bidirectional texture that was on it. Seeing another G10 model come out would be icing on the cake, and my ultimate wish is that eventually a 3.5 version of the Caly 3 Damascus will someday become a reality.
In regard to K390 PE vs SE, my strong preference is to see it offered as PE first. I had a SE Caly 3, and to me, SE blades on the Caly model just didn't seem to go together -- it's more of a gentleman's folder to me. Not to say it's not absolutely capable of handling those kinds of jobs with a SE blade, it just seems very graceful to me in PE. I carry my light gray SB one all the time, having a dark gray, navy blue or forest green G10 K390 Caly 3.5 would be awesome!
