Nice read, thanks for sharing! :)

And interesting: I was aware of that Sal likes folders in the 3.5 to 4 inch range, but that the/one reason for him is that also food prep can be done well with longer bladed folders was new to me. Much like one of my own reasonings for longer blades being more versatile.
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

Nice interview.

Is it a bombshell that Alistair Phillips is working on a UK-legal slipjoint? A Kapara, or something new?

I believe Sal has mentioned the possibility of a slip joint from Alistair in the past. I don't recall if it is Kapara based l based or not.

Hi Wrdwrght,

It started ut as a slippie for BBQ. I asked Alisatair to make one a bit larger with a Compression lock. Which he did and that is the Kapara. Then I asked him to make a sample of his slippie UK legal, which he did. Then Eric decided that a locking smaller Kapara should come before the UK legal slippie, which is in-the-works. I guess the UK legal slippie will follow the smaller locker.

Thanks for this roadmap, Sal. I love my Kapara and smile at the prospect of more from Alistair.

Not only that, you can also feel Sal transmited his value of humility to Eric. That's how you cement a nice legacy.

It also gives a very good image of the american dream.

Great read by the way, always a pleasure to read inputs of knowledgable people.

Thanks Knifegrinders.

FYI, the original custom model which the Kapara was based on was a slipjoint.
