I understand WHY spyderco attaches a specific handle color to specialty steels - but I think it might detract from overall sales. Has any research been done on something like S110v and blurple?

No, but there is a fun poll between blurple and burnt orange, which is a tie at the moment... (45:45) :D (see link)

That’s a Calendar photo if I’ve ever seen one!

And a landscape I want to roam through... :)
Sadly I moved away from there. That is Lake Granby in Colorado.

Are YOU the one that tilted it towards blurple now (46:45)? ;)

Haha no. Equally hideous IMO. Only Black or other dark neutral colors for me (unless I have to buy a pink version of the DF2 to finally get a US steel in my favorite design... ugh).

Without a doubt, Spyderco has the best color palate on the market! It's one of the many things I love about them. :)

That was my Bloke impersonation :p
Hahaha! Good imitation, but his would have had someone dressed funny or something.

Thanks. I can't take credit for it. I bought it that way, (new but for the dye job), from the original owner on the exchange at bladeforums, and at a bargain price to boot. Right place, right time, I guess.

I’ve been looking at getting the Kershaw you show in your picture.

How do you like it?

Does this model suffer the same lock up issue some of the other Launch series do?

I had the Emerson Launch and it only locked up 50%-60% of the time. I immediately returned it. Too bad it was a good looking knife.
It's actually very nice. I have has zero issues with lockup and it deploys with a nice authority. The tip is VERY delicate. Even moreso than a PM2. It's got a really nice steel for the price and it was shaving sharp, as all of my Kershaw/ZTs were. For the price, you won't find a better auto.
