Kapara CQI Dates?

#1

Post by rivy »

Hi All,

I am wondering what the production date stamps are on the original Kapara vs. the CQI Kapara?

Mine says "IS" could this be non-CQI?

Here is a photo of it: https://imgur.com/BnwcxQf

Thanks for any help!

(No, the knife is not available to disassemble)

That would be Sept 2019. Don´t quote me on that, but I think this should be a cqi-ed one already and have the pivot bushing.
Just for your info: Mine did NOT have the pivot bushing, but the action was still perfect and "drop shutty".
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

The CQI version started popping up around that date.
Here's a comparison video from beginning of Sept 2019, you can see the difference.
If you have not loosened the pivot, you have no side to side blade play and the blade drops shut like in that video you probably have the CQI version
