Help with an Old Endura.......

#1

Post by poolhustler »

Hello all,

Purchased an old Endura and find myself wondering about a couple things, hoping maybe someone here can help.

Did the first Endura's ever come in a tiny black box?

Have the old Endura's ever been cloned / copied?

The label on the box looks pretty good, but i know that can easily be replicated. The knife itself looks perfect, just like a few other old Endura 1's that i have. The one in question is the PBK, plain edge.

Thanks ... Russ

Looks legit. Black boxes were standard for a time.
So many knives, so few pockets... :)

I have a few black boxes but they are about twice the size of this one....

There were also blue boxes of the size and shape of the black boxes. They came with a foil wrap inside that didn't last long once opened and closed a few times. I'm not sure if that was before or after the one above but I'd guess before.

Nice find.

Hi Poolhustler,

Nice old pieces, and in good condition for a 30 year old knife. How many of us can say the same? ;)

We made 4 variations of that Endura 1. (The 2 was stainless scales) The one on the bottom is either a 1 or a 2, I would have to see the underside of the clip. The two at the top are either 4 or 4. Same question

We were having problems with clip breakage. At first we just replaced the knife and then we learned that many were just breaking the clip with a hammer to get a new knife. So we then ground off the broken clip and screwed in a metal clip. Then in 1998 we switched to the metal clip with the barrel bolt.

That's why I question the box marked "98"?

The white box marked as C10PBK98 should be for an Endura 3 with the barrel bolt pocket clip. I got a pair of C10PBK98 Endura 3 & C11PBK98 Delica 3 at that time. Still have the Delica 3.

Sorry for the confusion, I just grabbed a few knives and a box to compare. The PBK98 box still has the correct knife inside!!

Thanks for the replies and information.

The small black box that you have is authentic. Have a couple of the old Remote Release & Snap It knives that came in the same black boxes.
