Reveal 7, a what now?

#1

Post by Abyss_Fish »

Am I the only only one entirely blindsided by this reveal, I didn’t expect really any of these reveals. ESPECIALLY that Viele Phoenix sprint.

I mean, all the k390 and salt additions are spectacular. Especially that uk penknife. But most of these seemingly came out of left field.
Lightly insane.

Current spydie collection: Watu, Rhino, UKPK Salt G10 bladeswap, Yojimbo 2 Smooth G10 Cru-Wear, Manix lw “mystic” 20cv, SmallFly 2, Waterway, Ladybug k390, Caribbean
Current favorite steels: sg2/R2, lc200n/Z-FiNit, 3v

Honestly the Viele and Z-Max Mule were the only two that surprised me. All of the others we either knew were in the works, or could assume would be coming at some point. As a Seki enthusiast I really enjoyed this Reveal myself!

The Lil Native slip joint surprised the heck out of me, but maybe I wasn't paying attention?

The Cruwear PM2 wasn't surprising but the fact that it's regular production is.

Yes, the Viele was out of left field.

I'm thinking that I'll be picking up the Mule and UKPK. Thinking about the slipit Lil Native.

K390 Spyderedge. The only question now is, "what size?"

S30V dragonfly2. Yes please. I’ll suffer swapping the pink if I have to.

Endura for me. Dreamed of an ffg SE Endura-ish knife for quite some time, and now there are TWO (Pac Salt 2 LC200N and this K390) - thank you Sal and Spyderco!!! :)
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

Wowser!
A lil’slip happened after all!
At this point it seems like most here had given up on it. I was still hoping, but definitely surprised.

I think the saltPK will sell like hot cakes in the UK, but personally I’m hoping to see a sheepsfoot before I pull the trigger.

So much Seki goodness too. Not the most surprising, but certainly intriguing. Where to even begin

Have to repeat it here: One of several exciting products in the new Reveal are the ffg LC200N Salt variants: At just 1.9 oz for me THE best options for the (rare, but still) days when lowest carry weight counts. And finally real BM bugout contenders for the general market

Since I don't follow Spyderco quite as closely I did not really know what to expect (apart from more k390 knvies). I hoped for traditional Stretch in k390, but you know what, this one looks cool too. I am not sure what to think about Dragonfly in S30V apart from those collecting these little guys. The LC200N UK penknife is just cool, again, would have preferred the drop point version, but that is because I am weird. I am curios about the price in Europe. The Viele looks like a .... cool quirky knife and a very non-mainstream and I really like Spyderco does this kind of knives (even if this particular knife is not my cup of tea). I guess the VG-10 is fine as it is will be more of a collector's item than a daily user.

Please post when you see them in stores. I've seen KC set up and publish a "New :spyder: Reveal" special website literally an hour after the reveal went online - but not this time...

Where have you seen the price Wartstein?

The Crucarta pm2 isn't a Sprint? That's awesome! Hope they eventually do all of the golden models.

Where have you seen the price Wartstein?

I followed Kristis instruction HERE: viewtopic.php?f=2&t=88601#p1485322

Just click on the menu (three parallel lines at the top of each Reveal page), select "files" and on the right side of the page you´ll be able to download the pricelist

... Maybe that´s more convenient for some than downloading the prices :)
