LC200N or H1 Dragonfly 2 with DARK COLOR handle!

If I had one wish lying on my death bed, it would be that Spyderco would make a black, British racing green, or otherwise DARK (not obnoxious yellow) handled Dragonfly 2 WITH the rustproof steels (either LC200N or H1). I absolutely love the Dragonfly 2. To me it is the perfect knife. I absolutely LOVE rust proof H1 or LC200N steel, to me they are perfect steels. But I absolutely HATE the yellow grip that most “salt” knives come in. I like the Tusk, Spydiechef, Caribbean, and Siren all a lot. But I want a knife that is small (2.5” or less blade) that is legal to carry in cities like Boston, BUT that also uses rustproof steel and doesn’t have the “LOOK AT ME!” Obnoxious qualities of the yellow salt knife series.

If I had one week left to live. My dying wish would be that Sal Glesser hears my wish, and made this knife available to the world. I would be eternally grateful.

Or, buy a vg10 DF2 in black scales and switch the blades up.

Many options:
- Rit dye as mentioned. I can post pics if you want to see
- swap handles
- knivesplus sells dragonfly salts with pre-dyed scales (only see hawkbills on site now, but pretty sure they can do anything)
- g10 or other aftermarket scales (ie Cuscadi, bladescales.com)

Would be nice to see more blacked out salt models, definitely a blacked out native 5 and dragonfly.
A blacked out British racing green would be very nice, in lc200n.

I haven't done it yet, but I've read, and believe it is easy. Get a RIT color of choice, and give it a go!

I’m on board with this for sure. I always preferred the black/satin Pacific Salt to the yellow one...now that knife isn’t even available. I like the blacked out Salts too but I’d rather have satin since I always regrind the tips on my Pacifics and Salt 2’s. I would definitely be on board for a black handled Dragonfly 2. I like satin finish but I’d be happy enough with a blacked out model too since I don’t do any blade mods on the D’fly.

I think a blacked out Dragonfly Salt would look pretty bada$$ too! Bring it.

I collect Para 3s in different blade steels and I’d actually welcome a yellow/H1 or green/LC200N Para 3 into my collection with open arms. I currently don’t own anything in either of those steels but I’ve been wanting to pick up a few salt knives (and a SpydieChef) to try them out.

Then spyderco revealved the pink S30V DF2. I’ve been clamoring for US made steels in the DF2 so it and the hardware is going into my BRG FRN scales.

For $5 and 30 minutes at your stove you can make this knife a reality. RIT dye is really easy to use.

Considering several other Salt models have shipped with black blades and black handles, I can see where joyofsaltwaterproof is coming from.

Still, RIT plus some time gets rid of the primary complaint of a bright colored handle. And it is much quicker than waiting for Spyderco and costs less than a blade swap.

The rit dye works for the handle, but the blacked out blade isn't doable at home...
