Your longest period of time WITHOUT a Spydie purchase

I’m currently in my longest stretch ever as well. I haven’t bought a Spyderco since August. 🥺

I can honestly say that I’ve bought a new Spyderco probably at least once a month for the last 5 years.

22 years. I bought an Endura around 1994, then I focused on raising a family, paying tuition fees, paying a mortgage, etc.

I didn't have much disposable income until 1996 when the kids were grown, but I made up for it by buying maybe two dozen during the last five years :)

There have been periods where I’ve gone a few years without buying any knives at all. I did buy a few in 2018 and 2019, though. And last year I bought two Spydercos, an Endela and a Ladybug hawkbill Salt.

If I can snag one from the upcoming Ayoob sprint, that’ll be at least one this year.

Partly for financial reasons, and partly because of a more rigid focus, I reduced the collection over the past few years. Now I find myself buying more. I'm sure I'll end up selling a bunch again eventually.
I can't answer the question exactly but probably around 6 months.

8 years between when I bought my ZDP-189 DF2 and then lost it. Replaced with a VG-10 DF2, and picked up a salt DF2 and Atlantic salt at the same time.

2 years then until an FRN chaparral for Christmas last month.

Won’t buy anything else unless I lose something or the DF2 is offered in a US steel I like.

I've gone about five years between purchases. I went from having about 200 Spydercos to reducing my collection to my five favorites.

A month, but this year in 2021, the longest time seems to be about 4 days, lol.
Cant believe I just had to buy the small spyderpac with 18 slots.
I realised I have a real problem when debating myself in my mind about getting a small or large spyderpac.

Summer ‘98 when I bought the Remote Release to summer 2018 when I bought the BHQ Para 3. Lots of Benchmades came and went during that time... happy to be back where I belong

I went a decade or better with two Spyderco knife purchases. Then, I got bit by the knife bug and have enjoyed multiple knives monthly for a couple of years. So far for 2021 I have made no knife purchases. One is now on the shortlist after thumbing thru the 2021 product guide... a blacked out PM2. A blacked out Sage 5 would make that list as well!!!

My first Spydie was a Pacific Salt as well! :) Still in my collection. I might sell it eventually though, you know how I actually don't like FRN lightweight designs... I'd rather own an Autonomy 1 to fill the H-1 spot. I'm just too afraid to have an automatic knife imported - what if the customs dude does NOT know that to OWN such a knife is legal in Germany, just not to CARRY it...? :confused:
