The Military is a great knife but it is too big and too expensive, and is illegal in many places. It does not matter that it is legal where you live, it is not for many people.

So, the UKPK seems to have the best general appeal. I'm not opposed to it, but it has never really stuck out as something I needed to try.
But... since I've long been looking for a one hand opening slipjoint (or DD) with a pocket clip and sheepsfoot blade, I was doing a picture search for the UKPK to help me visualize how it would look with a sheepsfot blade and BOOM! There it was, an UKPK with orange G10 and serrated(!) sheepsfoot blade. Wow.

So, I guess it's settled then;

G10 - also seems to be mentioned a fair bit

COBALT - definitely seen this more than most other colours.

SPY27 - same thing here.

SHEEPSFOOT SE - because sheepsfoot, and because SE

:D
Hmmm a Sheepfoot or Wharncliffe blade would be unusual and different.

Realistic? Spy27 Translucent Gold g10 UKPK.
Funkier? Spy27 Translucent Gold g10 T-Mag, i.e., Spy(derco)27 steel, Gold(en, CO) g10, (USA) Rare Earth lock?

I like the idea of the UKPK in SPY27 and cobalt blue G10 for a forum knife.

You do, trust me. I have a Delica in that configuration and it is great. I have a couple of UKPK's and I carry one nearly everyday, now. I used to laugh at the idea. After I got one just because I did not have one, it became my most carried knife.

I think with everything going on and people struggling to make ends meet it needs to be a smaller affordable knife. Ladybug/Manbug/ Byrd?
Flash Batch request: Flat Iron Salt (CE w/ yellow FRN)
New knife request: Police 4 Salt!!!

Ladybug and manbug are not allowed in some places.
Either locking OR one-hand opening but NOT both.

UKPK seems to be the best choice.

Yes UKPK whould be the best compromise.
Or is it a conflict of interest whith the "UKPK damascus project"?
Or is still a UKPK sprint run in preparation?

THAT's the thread I was thinking of earlier in this thread. If nothing is coming from that thread anytime soon, and Sal seemed to be pretty involved there...this thread is honestly just a waste of time with 75 different suggestions haha.

Yeah, that's pretty much why I haven't commented yet. Plus, as backed up as all the factories are due to COVID, I doubt they're real eager to add anything else unexpected to the lineup.

I had a UKPK briefly, but had to return it since Amazon sent me the BD1N version when I ordered the S110V version and they didn't have any more in stock, so I elected a refund. I'd definitely jump back for a CTS-204P one -- I got to handle it and the UKPK seemed like a nice fit for me.

Also, the CTS-204P Delica has tempted me on many occasions -- depending on how much Reveal 7 empties my wallet, I'll have to consider picking one up :)

Regardless if threads like this are of much practical value or not in the sense that Spyderco would choose based on them if they make a forum knife at all and if, which model, I think they are fun and I like to read the suggestions of other members :)

And: This thread accomplished to get me on board with a UKPK as a potential forum knife - and if I can settle on a SMALL, NON locking folder (really not my thing normally), everyone can... :p ;)
Top three going by pocket-time (update March 24):
- EDC: Endura thin red line ffg combo edge (VG10); Wayne Goddard PE (4V), Endela SE (VG10)
-Mountains/outdoors: Pac.Salt 1 SE (H1), Salt 2 SE (LC200N), and also Wayne Goddard PE (4V)

I agree. They are fun and I think that is why they continue to be popular. Everyone gets to voice his or her opinion. My ideas my not be the same as another person's because we all have different life contexts. In Colorado, for example, they cannot carry a 4 inch bladed folder but in Alabama they can. One guy has a back ground as an EMT and another as a construction worker. One person is flush with money and another struggles to pay bills, while another is a spend thrift regardless of practicality. Some people are pragmatic and others are dreamers. Those kinds of things shape people's ideas and desires. It is great that we can all get together and discuss, cuss, disagree, find common ground, laugh, and dream a bit.
