Your First Spyderco in 2021 !!!!!

#1

Post by cycleguy »

I stashed this away in the basement to sneak in my stocking on xmas; forgot! Last night I stumbled upon it while stashing Woodford.

"Am I going to use it, no I'm going to put it in a drawer and keep it pristine, no I think I'm going to use it..."

Jammin' my Spydercos in 2021, :D

Knowing the K390 Endela is out there is making it tough🥴

Just came home and totally surprisingly found a package from Slovakia with my first Spyderco of 2021...A Waterway and gift by forum brother Pancake, and of such unbelievable generosity and kindness that I am actually a bit out of words at the moment..

In the pic you can see it with another (!!) knife Pancake made himself and also gifted to me a while ago (and I love and use it a lot, as can be seen by the Patina).
I immediately tried out the Waterway and it cuts just great...

Stefan/Pancake, I sent you a pm anyway, but let me say here once more - this is just amazing and I don´t kniow how to thank you enough at the moment...

I´ll have to do a dedicated thread on this...

Julia - it really is.
"Pancake" is such a great, kind and generous guy. I am both glad and honored. And still a bit out of words :)

Nod & Tip of the hat to Pancake!

I love how small those edge bevels look on both of those knives!

Yes, both cut extremly well:

- The Waterway was Pancakes own knife and he wrote me that he did some kind of regrind;
- The second knife which he made by himself has really thin stock for the tall blade and as far as I can tell is very thin behind the edge. A dream to use, really! :) (and the O1 steel gets crazy sharp extremly quick)

Still waiting for my Native 5 in Maxamet from the seconds sale to arrive in remote Northern Australia. So it will be my first 2021 Spyderco.
Always takes awhile even without Covid so not that worried. (Usually 10days from Blokes part of Aus in Sydney to my place)

Just ordered a plain S30V G10 Manix ... don’t ask me why. I have a few exclusives and sprints , the DLT exclusive with red G10 scales in 20CV being my most treasured so far. What can I say , I love this S30V Manix more than thought I would. I only wish they bring back the backlock Manix with a thinner blade stock. That could be a helluva knife.
