Techno CTS-XHP stone washed blade

#1

Post by Gil P. »

Has anyone seen one of these before? I've had it for about a year and a half. It seems to sharpen just fine.

Thank you, for some reason I thought they normally came in a different finish and steel.

There was a mistake run that came in s30V, I have one of those. I would have preferred XHP, but the price was right.

That's the factory finish on most Slysz models, seen on the Techno series as well as the discontinued Bowie, and most recently on the Swayback.

A similar finish is applied on Spyderco's Maxamet models manufactured in Golden.

That's how polished HIP steels look. The structure is denser than forged steel, so when polished highly alloyed steels don't take the same typical mirror polished finish, even though it is extremely smooth the reflective qualities are different.

This is hands down my favorite finish for Spyderco blades :D Part of the reason why I'm trying to collect all Slysz releases...hoping for the Bowie 2 in the future!
