Cliffs, Stallone and Spyderco

#1

Post by Stoney87 »

I was rewatching a childhood favorite of mine last night, “Cliffhanger.” For those of you that haven’t seen it somehow you should. Now Stallone himself doesn’t carry the Spyderco in the film, but an old timer on the mountain rescue squad has a serrated blade I’m thinking an endura. It’s it’s cool to see that. Congrats on making the big screen, a few decades ago! I just thought it was cool, never would have noticed that as a kid. So what other movies have you guys watched and picked out a Spyderco in?

There is a thread dedicated to Spydies on the big screen. Check it out, it's a good read.

I think Hannibal Lecter’s Harpy is the most famous appearance by a Spydie in a movie.

As mentioned there's a very extensive thread on this. Spyderco have been in quite a few TV bits.

Training Day for example has a SE Police

Training day and Hannibal as well, very cool. I didn’t realize there where so many films starring Spydies. Very cool, I’ll check out that thread. I think it was the first time I’d seen a Spyderco on my tv and realized what it was. I’m fairly new to this hobby, the last few years really.

cliffhanger was instrumental in my wanting a spyderco for my first knife. i had already wanted the ladybug, but seeing a spyderco in one of my childhood hero's movies sealed the deal. cliffhanger came out in '93, the year i got my first knife and spyderco, hence ladybug93. an endura would've been sweet, but way too big for my kid hands. :)
keep your knife sharp and your focus sharper.

Very cool. I also loved cliffhanger. One of my favorite action movies as a kid in the 90s.
