I bought this knife a very long time ago at an outdoor and hunting show at the IX Center in Cleveland. Can anyone help identify it? it has 90 degree angles on the frame.

Hi Desperado,

Welcome to our forum.

It's a very early "Hunter" model, early '80's.

Thank you. I own many knives and several SpyderCo models. But this was my very first exposure to the Brand. My dad and I were so impressed at the show that we both bought knives and sharpeners. I just didn't remember the model.

Very nice. That thing is a great user. Skinned any deer with it? It looks like it needs sharpening. That should be pretty easy to do. If you do not know how to sharpen serrated edges, there is a great video on here by Vivi that takes all the mystery out of it and makes it easy.

Were these actually intended for hunting?

I believe they were designed for processing game. The Stretch is descended from another model designed with similar intention.

It's been lost for several years. Found it in the basement 2 days ago. It does need sharpened. I still have the Sharpmaker I bought the same day I bought the knife. It's got alot of hard miles on it, but I'm glad I found it.

The Stretch actually descended from the Hunter model the OP is asking about
