Just saw this on KiethKevinKen's IG page...looks like a green g10 handle with black oxide or satin 8cr blade. A Blue Ridge Knives distributor exclusive.

**Edit to correct the blade coating.
So will these be at multiple retailers?

I am not familiar with Blue Ridge Knives.

They're a distributor, not a retailer like Blade HQ or Knife Center. So unless one retailer buys the whole run of these knives, then yes, they should be at multiple places. Whichever stores buy them from Blue Ridge.

Do you mean they usually buy them all, or that they usually have some of them? Either way, I don't remember either! ;) There have been way more of the Moteng/Sportsman’s Supply exclusives lately.

I remembered Blue Ridge Knives but couldn't remember what knife they were selling. A quick search, they were somehow involved in the Ontario/ Esee Avispa and Zancudo. I have both and like them a lot.

Whelp, guess I'm finally in for a bow river - they got my color down pretty good there. :-)
I'm happiest with Micarta and Tool Steel.

Top four in rotation: K390 + GCM PM2, ZCarta Shaman, Crucarta PM2, K390 + GCM Straight Spine Stretch.

When I worked at a cutlery store in college, Blue Ridge Knives was the larger "sharp things" distributor in the country. They didn't stock everything, but they did stock everything that would sell.

Anybody know what dealers will have these?
Seems like those associated with Blue Ridge as their main supplier. My local source is (New Graham Knives); but I think they may just order the non-Case, non-Spyderco stuff from them. I know a huge number of online retailers specializing in knives are associated with them; and BRK drop ships for them. They'll be all over the US, but they always show up with a Marion, VA (where Blue Ridge is located) return address.

This isn't that expensive, so I think it will be among my first Spyderco fixed blades, along with the upcoming Mule Team SPY27 of course.

Looks great! The green scales looks more utilitiarian than the original blue that looks kitchen-knifey.

Excited to see scale possibilities for this. :)

Looks good. A corresponding steel change would have got me more excited.

I really love the design and new colors!
I’m curious about the screw construction...
Perhaps it’s an example of CQI or a request from the distributor?
I’m not sure if I prefer pins or not, but this keeps me excited for even more variations.

IMO screws are an unnecessary complication on a fixed blade unless you plan on swapping the scales. Just something to come loose or rust, but with no upside. Not a bad thing, but I don’t think it’s an upgrade.

My guess is the screws are to allow the scales to be installed later in the assembly process or in a different location.

Nice to see some different handle colors finally. I really like my Bow River... though it gets basically zero use.

How about Bd1N for a run of these? Shouldn't be too much more but such a better steel in my experience.

I held a bow river for the first time back in August. It felt like something I'd like. Then I saw the price and I have kicked myself for not picking one up sooner. The green with black looks really good even though I usually don't like the coatings. I honestly like the standard handle scale. I should bite the bullet on it I suppose

Thanks Musroom for the review on the exclusive. I would have to say it is a very practical knife that will see a lot of different applications out there. I got an early look at this exclusive and since I had a bit of inside heads up I was able to get a few of them for my own use. My impression is that it has some military and slight tactical flavor. I have the original version in my boat, kitchen and other handy places. I rigged one up as a neck knife to use for fishing and it is always easy at hand for emergency use if needed. I also put 4 in a nice wooded box and this makes a great steak knife set. Thanks for all who have the Bow River and the feed back on it. Phil
